Ø Clinic Primary Care
Ø Hospitalist – In Patient 8 Beds, Nursing Home 30 beds Ø Emergency Room – Staffed with a Single Provider - 6 Days a Month minimum 6 patients a day on average in the ED and another 6 in the Urgent Care walk in clinic. RMH is a Critical Access Hospital, with a 4-bed Emergency Department in Musselshell County. The City population is 2500, but the Hospital draws from a large surrounding rural area of 4,600 plus residents. My position includes providing outpatient primary care, with an emphasis on Adult and Elderly to the general population. Services include management of chronic medical conditions; including Diabetes, Hypertension, CHF, CKD, Liver Failure, Chronic Pain, Primary care Orthopedics and injections, Asthma and COPD. Health maintenance management in Men’s and Woman’s health; including prostate, PAP, Pelvic, Annual and Sports physicals. On-call services are 24 hour shifts and I cover the ER on Thursday’s and Fridays for a total of 48 hours a week. RMH has a 4 bed ER with one trauma bay with a link to Avera E-Emergency. There is a State highway through the Bull Mountains that runs through Roundup and we see a number of critical trauma cases every Month. Acute patients are stabilized at RMH and transferred either via ground or Air-flight to Billings.
Hospitalist Services: RMH has 6 rooms and 8 beds for Acute and Skilled patient care. Each provider is responsible for the Hospitalist duties one week a Month, as well as nighttime coverage when on-call. Patient care includes, acute care, medication management and monitoring, discharge planning with the patients and the Families, Cardiac Monitoring, Wound Care, and Hospice/comfort care.
Roundup Memorial has a 30-bed Intermediate Long Term Care unit. Each provider is assigned a number of patients to Manage in this portion of our facility. Additionally, the on-call provider manages any acute issues that arise with our residents, including end of life care, IV therapy, and medication management.
