ACADEMIC PROJECTS
Thesis: “The Control of Grid Size on Accuracy of Hydrous 1D Simulation”
Hydrous 1D is a widely used simulation software program for geological simulations including water flow, contaminant flow and water management. It is essential to understand if grid size plays a factor in the results of the simulation as many simulations are used to solve real world problems and to manage water and contamination.
Independent Research Course: “Methionine Biosynthesis in Root Plastids”
The research study concentrated on methionine biosynthesis in plants, particularly root plastids. The root plastids were isolated and then treated with radioactive precursors and chromatographic analysis done to follow the flow of these precursors into methionine. The results obtained showed the presence of radioactive precursors in methionine. Methionine is an important amino acid that we do not synthesize but we ingest from plants.
