KONE is one of the largest manufacturers of elevators and escalators worldwide. Al Salam Establishment is the authorized dealers of KONE elevators in Yemen.

January 1996 to March 2015 (19+ years)

My role as technical manager comprised of managing the installation and maintenance of elevators, escalators and autowalks. I was the point of reference from the initiation of a sales contract to subsequent service provisions of all projects undertaken by the firm throughout Yemen. I have performed:

Installation of elevators (mini-space and monospace), escalators and auto-walks. This included approval of layout drawing, supporting the customer in constructing the lift shaft, managing the work allocation of staff, proactive supervision of job, final inspection and hand-over of project on completion.

Providing advisory to potential clients by guiding them to optimally design their building and choose the appropriate design of lifts according to their available infrastructure and resources.

Managing technical personnel from talent recruitment, payscale determination, approval of promotions and increment and managing the staff budget.

Management and approval of orders for optimal inventory replenishment.

Ensure safe working practices are followed at project sites and among personnel.

Major Projects:

Embassy of the United States (Sanaa), Aden International Airport, Arabian Yemen Cement Company Ltd, Central Bank of Yemen, Port of Hodeidah, Presidential Palace in Taiz (Sabiem lifts, 1996), Parliament House, Sabafon, Ministry of Health, major hospitals, hypermarkets and 5-star hotel chains including Holiday-Inn and Mövenpick.

Schindler is a manufacturer of escalators and elevators worldwide. The company has presence in more than 140 countries worldwide.

Yemen Swiss Refrigeration & Trading Co. Ltd. was the authorized dealers of Schindler lifts in Yemen.

Ojaco Trading Company (later acquired by Schindler) was the authorized dealers of Schindler lifts in

Abu Dhabi, UAE.
