After 22 years in private law practice with emphasis on business defense, mineral and real property title examination, I served the State of Louisiana for the last 18-plus years, providing a vigorous defense of the public’s interest in the Shreveport Office of the Litigation Division, Office of the Attorney General. After the last 8 years as Office Chief, I retired from that office. I desire to offer my experience and skill set developed over the years in case-fact assessment, investigations, client and witness interviews, thorough case preparation, attention to detail, negotiations, mentoring less experienced attorneys in preparing a client’s case for professional representation (in court if necessary), and provision of an appropriate resolution for the client’s issues at interest.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Mar 1999 – June 2017 Office Chief for the Shreveport Office, Litigation Division of the Louisiana Department of Justice for the last 8 years. I supervised attorneys and support staff in the defense cases involving medical malpractice, general liability, road hazard, civil rights and workers compensation. I spent 10 years as a Staff Attorney in the same office representing the State’s interests in lawsuits filed against the State, its agencies, departments and employees, with emphasis in medical malpractice and high exposure general liability.

Oct 1977 – Mar 1999 Private law firm practice for various personal and business-oriented clients with emphasis on wills and successions, real estate and mineral title examinations, loan closings and creditors’ rights in Bankruptcy Court. Licensed to practice law in all State Courts, Louisiana Federal District Courts and the U. S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.
