In this part-time position during my graduate studies, I worked with the Associate Director – Systems & Technology to execute IT infrastructure projects across various departments in the University. Project Engineer, Power Transmission & Distribution Business July 2012 - October 2014

KEC, the flagship company of RPG Enterprises is a billion-dollar infrastructure major, providing engineering, procurement and construction services; majorly in areas of power transmission & distribution, telecom, railways and water. I joined the organization as a Graduate Engineer Trainee, quickly progressing to a project engineering role, where I was responsible for contributing towards delivery of international power infrastructure projects. Working out of the corporate headquarters until January 2014, my key responsibilities included, but were not limited to: coordination with internal teams (design, construction, logistics, finance), vendor management, clientele correspondence, accomplishment of revenue targets by overall project management, developing project budgets and cash flows, preparing project progress reports/management narratives.

I was deputed to Saudi Arabia in January 2014, to work on the firm’s first ever GIS projects outside India. Here, I was primarily responsible for site mobilization, planning, scheduling and administering electrical construction works, and served as the general contractor’s point of contact for all electrical engineering related matters at the job sites. Besides, site management, I was a key enabler in obtaining client approvals for project’s detailed designs and equipment/materials’ submittal.

Saudi Electricity Company’s Gas Insulated Substation Projects: At the project location, held dual responsibilities of project engineering and job site management for 2 greenfield 115/13.8 kV substation projects in Eastern Province – Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Projects worth USD 45 Million.

ACADEMIC PROJECTS

Research & Consulting Project for Economic Development – Northeastern University/Vantage Point ETDS: Worked directly with the founding principal of Vantage Point ETDS (an advisory firm), and researched the attributes of opening and operating a ‘mix-use’ type business incubator at Oswego County in New York. The key deliverable turned in was a 24-year cash flow projection for the facility, factoring in initial capital expenditures, year wise build out of the facility, market absorption assumptions, and sensitivity analysis.

Social Science Research Project for a Residential Community – Northeastern University: For this project, formulated survey instrument, external communication plan and research plan for a community in East Boston, Massachusetts that intended to carry out a study to evaluate the ‘resident only parking system’ introduced in their neighborhood. Alongside developed initial schedule/cost/resource estimates using MS Project, risk management/quality plans and stakeholder register for the project.
