As an accomplished medicine doctor with 26 years of healthcare experience, I was very interested to learn about your general physician opening. Here is enclosed my resume in application for the post advertised.

Currently, I reside in Hatillo, Puerto Rico, an island in the Caribbean (territory of the United State), where I have completed most of my studies. My primary and secondary schooling was formed in the Scholar's District of Arecibo, and in 1977 I started my university education in the University of Puerto Rico, Precinct of Rio Piedras. After finishing my premedical courses in 1980; I started my studies in medicine in the Universidad Central del Este, San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic where I got the title of Doctor in Medicine in 1984 and proceeded to start in a course of work and clinical training right after. My first year as a physician was spent working in prevention, education, diagnosis and treatment in 1989 and after completion of this, I finished my training with a transitional internship in the Hospital Dr. Pedro Zamora, Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. In that time I shared my knowledge while teaching students of medicine and achieved all the skills needed to be a complete general physician. In Puerto Rico during the process to achieve a permanent license as a physician it is required to work in a public service health department for a year. Because of this, I went to a mental medical center to provide public services, an experience that made me a better and more understanding physician, and in July 1993, I finally got my permanent license, number 11321. My next experience was working in a public health unit in pregnancy, tuberculosis, diabetes mellitus and family planification clinics, an experience that taught me that physicians must educate their patients about diseases and their respective prevention to accomplish a good treatment. The most important part of treatment and diagnosis is listening and understand the patient.

In 1994 I began a new work experience in the Insurance Fund Corporation of Puerto Rico, a work compensation program, that proved challenging due to the different circumstances the patients found themselves in. And it is due to my achievements in this field that I received a certification of specialty in occupational medicine in July 2003 . During my 22 years working in occupational medicine, my responsibilities consisted of evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, disability analysis and the training of new physicians. For me health is a state of complete physical, mental, economic and social well-being and every physician should understand that each human being is unique as must be treated with the most highest standards in regards to health. My greatest satisfaction as a physician is my ability to cure, rehabilitate, or improve each individual patient's health. I am very excited with the idea of moving to New Mexico for a new experience as a physician and am able to move as soon as possible. I am filled with enthusiasm to meet new people, share my Hispanic culture with New Mexican, and enjoy the natural beauties and peacefulness of New Mexico.

I am confident that my ongoing studies combined with my successful experience in the field of medicine will enable me to pursue a position that you are regarding. If you agree that my skills and experience would be beneficial to the program, please call me at 787-***-**** or email **********@*****.*** to arrange an interview. Thank you for your time, I look forward to speaking with you.
