It is my pleasure to write a reference letter for Dr.Beevi, who is applying to the vacant position in the department of physics at AUM. I have interacted with Beevi in several contexts: as my student of M.Sc,M.Phil scholar and Ph.D ResearchScholar.

I first met Beevi in 1996, when she enrolled in MSc class. Dr.Beevi immediately stood out from the crowd of first semester freshman. She was attentive in class, prepared, submitted well-written and thoughtful assignments, and participated in meaningful ways, such as by debating other students.Sinceher first semester in college Dr.Beevi has enrolled in six of myclasses. She demonstrated similar competencies, and her skills grew with eachsemester. Most striking is her ability to tackle challenging task withenthusiasm andendurance. Dr.Beevi easily adopted a leadership role, helping her peers learn howtosolve problems on their own. She also lectured in class several times during thesemester.

Most important to a career in academics, is that she improved in subsequent years. Leadership, humility, the ability to identify areas in need of improvement, and the willingness to do the work needed to improve – these are all characteristics we value in academia. As research and development finds its place in academic career, Dr.Beevi has an excellent grasp of experimental knowledge, critical thinking skills and tenacity in solving difficult problems leading to a successful career in research.

As mentor, I witnessed Dr.Beevi from her first independent research efforts. Similar to other students, Dr.Beevi struggled with finding an appropriate topic. Unlike other students, she conducted mini literature reviews on potential topics and discussed her ideas with zeal and enthusiasm. In closing, I believe that Dr.Beevi has the capacity to excel as a teacher and as a researcher. She is one of a small handful of student that I have encountered in my 37 years of teaching and 20 years of research. Please do not hesitate to contact me for furtherquestions.

With regards Prof.R.Thiagarajan

Respected Sir/Madam,

I am very pleased to write this letter of recommendation for DR.M.Mahaboobbeevi. I had known her for the past 17 years. I have worked with many faculties in my teaching career, and she stands out among them. I found her easy to work with and a personable individual.

I was impressed that she took full responsibility as a permanent faculty, not as a temporary substitute.

She put in time and effort above what was expected of a substitute, staying until 8:00 pm, if necessary. She participated in all conferences and meetings held during her interim.

She always develops a good rapport with both students and parents. Students respect her, and respond to her caring manner and she has firm control of the class.

She is a very personable lady. Attractive and professional-looking, she has good interpersonal skills and is easily understood by students and parents alike. She carries out every responsibility well and in a timelymanner.

In closing, I would like to say that I believe she would be a tremendous asset to any institution. She is a colleague with whom I am proud to teach.

You may reach me via E-mail at *********@*****.**.** or by phone at 978**-*****. I will be happy to provide additional information or answer any questions, ifneeded.

Yours sincerely, DR.THAMIZ SELVI.R
