Advanced Booster Development Engine Risk Reduction (ABEDRR) Program (Sept 2013 - Present)

Oversaw and key contributor to many activities related to preparation of cost, schedule and risk evaluations in support of proposal preparation and submittal and then executing according to plan once on contract. These activities included leading internal design and analysis efforts, working with suppliers to implement procurement and fabrication plans and then preparing for and complete hot-fire testing of hardware.

Key Projects and Accomplishments

- Led bottoms-up analysis, creation of materials list and procurement plan and assembly of program integrated master schedule for submittal of $18M proposal to NASA -- contract offer was accepted.

- Led procurement effort of key piece of prototype hardware as a manufacturing demonstrator for testing on accelerated schedule and within budgeted costs. Effort resulted in a 50% cost savings and 30% schedule lead- time reduction benefit.

Liquid Propulsion Group - Antares (April 2012 – Sept 2013) Supported many activities that culminated in the first and consecutive flights of the Orbital Sciences Corporation Antares Rocket. Facilitated communication and cooperation between different involved departmental groups including Quality, Manufacturing, Assembly and Structures Analysis Groups to ensure AJ-26 engine integrity. Worked with team to identify stress corrosion cracks and weld-repair remedies for engine nozzle fuel manifold. Oversaw general engine corrosion inspections, leak checks and general engine condition. - Led critical failure investigation of cracked nuts found on NK-33 engine. Determined root cause and corrective action plan for mitigating flight risk. Implemented new/better practices in future procedures.

- Wrote 50 Point Visual Inspection document used by inspectors during initial engine processing.
