Position: Warehouse Manager Length of service: 11 Years 2006 to 2017.

Responsibilities:

Managed the entire warehouse operation including the shipping, receiving and production (light assembly) departments.

I was responsible for the hiring, training, coaching, motivating and disciplinary action of the warehouse staff. Prepared and conducted yearly performance reviews.

Member of the health and safety committee, ensured facility and material handling equipment were in good order. Responded to any health and safety concerns in a timely fashion.

I was responsible for budget and cost control which included managing transportation costs, reviewing and approving freight invoices, negotiating rate agreements and filing freight claims. Monitored other budgets which included but not limited to overtime, agency cost, waste disposal charges, shipping supplies and equipment maintenance. Approved invoices and ensured cost remained within budget.

Organized and prepared the warehouse operation for year-end inventory project. Ensured all the deadlines and proper cut-offs were met, consistently achieved or exceeded year-end target.

Acted as principal contact with customer service department, attended to special order requests, reconciled reported shipping errors, provided updates on customer returns, forwarded rate quotes when required.

Responsible for warehouse storage and design, assigned bin locations to new product. Successfully incorporated 4 company acquisitions over a 10 year period into the existing warehouse operation.

Monitored company K.P.I.’s, ensured standards were being met; initiated action plan when required.

In 2017 worked with senior management on the implementation of a warehouse management system into the Mississauga facility.

Responsibilities:

Managed the Shipping, receiving and Parts department. Assigned tasks to staff, ensured goals were being met, reviewed processes regularly, implemented changes to increase overall efficiencies.

Responsible for managing, coaching, motivating, training work force that ranged from 5 to 35 employees over an 18 year period. Implemented cross training programs to increase flexibility of staff.

Assisted in the implementation of ISO 14001 and 9001 programs, established targets, monitored and measured results, participated in audits.

Actively involved in 3 successful company relocations, moved from a 10,000 sq. ft. building to the present day location of over 350,000 sq. ft in a state of the art facility.

Budget and cost control, responsible for transportation budget in excess of 5 million dollars, ensured agency costs, overtime, waste disposal, shipping supplies, all remained within budget. Audited and approved invoices.

Worked with inventory control department, performed daily cycle counts, prepared warehouse for year-end inventory. Note; high level of inventory accuracy at the dollar and item level helped successfully eliminated year- end inventory.

Ensured warehouse condition was always well maintained, aisles were kept free of debris, product was properly stored on the various racking systems, end of shift procedures were consistently executed.
