SENIOR MANAGER, SYSTEMS ENGINEERING Irvine Company - Newport Beach, CA. (2005 to 2016) For this 150 year old private real estate investment company: Managed SE team for the high level enterprise infrastructure support and integration of mission critical application systems for 3000 users across 180 locations. Responsibilities included the growth and support of 125 servers leading to an infrastructure consisting of a 1000 user Citrix farm, 10 NetScalers, 800TB of SAN storage (HP, EMC and NetApp), 150 HP and Cisco blade and rack servers, 700 Virtual servers on a VMware farm, all supporting the Development to Operations cycle. Worked with PMO and Business Applications teams to deliver hundreds of software development projects critical for operational success (ERP, CRM, POS, Business Intelligence, etc). Hired, managed a diverse innovative technical staff and consultants of 8 to 20 to implement projects through all life-cycle phases in accordance with PMM standards. Ensured company client/server technology kept pace with new products and industry directions; research, introduce, and recommended new technology that benefited the organization. Applied enterprise operations vision to all system, technical, and applications projects. Performed situation analysis and recommendations for problem solving (incident reporting and root cause analysis). Managed department budgeting and forecasts of an annual $2 million and another $1 million in discretionary projects. Mobility implementation using Cloud services for IAM, SSL, SSO, PKI while leveraging Citrix for legacy application access.

Analysis, design, build and relocation of the Company’s Data Center from Newport Beach to Irvine. After approvals the construction and move into the new Data Center was complete under 10 months.

Supported upgrades of SAP and implementation of HANA; designing new standards for Linux systems and HANA support.

Migration of SAP running on 25 Itanium hardware servers to virtual landscapes using VMware, Cisco UCS and NetApp.

Virtualization of the Company’s production business and support systems using VMware and HP SANS.

(2000 to 2005) For this 30 billion dollar pharmaceutical supply company: Responsible for a 5,000 user local and wide area network consisting of 350 servers nationwide. Supervised East and West coast Server Engineering teams. Enterprise server operation, support and implementation of email systems, Clustering, SAN’s, Corporate DFS, file/ print infrastructure, data and applications in a mixed environment of NT, Novell, MAC, Mainframe and UNIX systems. NETWORK SUPERVISOR Focus Diagnostics, Inc. - Cypress, CA. (1998 – 2000) For this Microbiology Reference Laboratory: Network operations, expansions. Supervise Help Desk and Desktop/Server support staff. Administration, maintenance, building and troubleshooting of Web, Proxy, SQL, Oracle, E-Mail, File, Printer servers and workstations in a mixed environment of NT, Novell, VMS, MAC, UNIX and medical testing systems.
