Technical and Hackathon Projects

Car Occupancy Project (2017). A system that detects living beings forgotten in vehicles. Uses infra-red imaging to detect heat emission, and convolutional neural networks to train, classify, and predict the location and description of subject in vehicle. Done in Python, C++, and TensorFlow. RoboBull (2017). Stock action suggestion using candlestick pattern recognition and moving average algorithms for financial intraday and short term trading, while also offering real time data visualization terminal and subscription option for specific stocks. Done in Python, MongoDB, and Flask. Personal Butler Project (2016). A robot that is able to fetch items in a pre-mapped environment, and return to charging station post performance. Implemented navigation, mapping and controlling applications on a Pioneer platform using SLAM and OpenCV. Done in C++, Python, and ROS. Face Recognition Using Convolutional Neural Networks (2016). Used pre-trained deep learning model and EU Faces data set to train, classify, and predict test subjects’ names. Done in MATLAB. Object Recognition and Classification Using Bag of Words (2016). An application that classifies objects from 20 self-trained classes using SIFT, OpenCV and Python. RUStudying (2016). A platform designed from a database of rooms’ schedules, campuses, and buildings to find vacant classrooms for group/independent studying. Done in MongoDB, Python, and Flask.
