I am writing on behalf of Casey Mello regarding the position of Helpdesk Technician. I am currently employed at Yankee Candle, as an Associate Helpdesk & Operations Specialist. I have been working here for 4 years, 2 of which have been in at the Computer Helpdesk. Casey majored in computer science, and I have majored in Computer Information Systems at Fitchburg State University. He has helped me work on many projects throughout the years that I have known him through College and beyond. During that time, I have gotten to know Casey and can thoroughly vouch for his character and abilities.

When working with Casey he always had the skills and patience to help us. There was a time that we had to program a game of Tick Tack Toe, in which we didn’t know where to start. Casey was able to help get us started since he knew more about C++ than the rest of us. We had a few compilation errors that he was able to fix just after a few minutes he was able to decipher what we messed up on. After that he was able to fix the coding and we were able to create a working Tick Tack Toe game.

Casey and I still work with each other, as he has helped build a few computers over the years. When we built his computer, he did all the research needed for what parts we would need, along with where to get them. While building his computer, he took the lead in assembling it, and where each part had to go. He did the wiring for his computer by himself, I was there mostly as an extra pair of hands. After the hardware was taken care of we moved onto installing Windows 10, which went well on his. When installing Windows 10 on my computer we had issues. There were certain files needed that were only on previous Window operating systems, but that was when Casey was able to find the files online and download them to a flash drive. After that we had to deal with a faulty hard drive that it came with. He helped in wiping the HDD clean and formatting it to work with Windows 10.

Casey is a pleasure to work with because of his pleasant and positive attitude towards his work. He would never complain about the tasks given to him; he always remained positive when tasked with projects from our Professors. There were times that people on our team became distracted and Casey was able to help direct them back towards working on the project. He always stays focused and remains positive with whatever challenges come his way.

With his relentless motivation and his knowledge of Computers and Computer Information Systems, Casey would bring a wealth of knowledge and skills towards a Technician position.
