Application Development: Selected by VP Development, IBM Security, to manage (Agile, RUP) team developing systems to automate the installation and configuration of software components on VMs, including LDAP, MQ, postgres, redis, QRadar, Tivoli Federation Manager, WebSEAL, others, to improve stability and productivity of Cloud security offering. International DevOps SW development team. System used to migrate (below) F50 customers, on time, on budget. System now being used for all migrating customers. Domestic and international development, test teams.

Application Development: Selected by IBM Development to manage (Agile, Jira) project developing future Cloud-based security applications for IBM Cloud Security (CIS) systems in 1Q17. This is a development of the Feature Roadmap applications for IBM Cloud Security offerings. Application areas include Mobile, Enhanced Authentication, Enhanced Provisioning, Identity Proofing, Subscription Management and Reporting/Dashboards. International project with domestic IBM developers, vendor developers in India, contracted development shop in NYC, test team in Australia.

Data Center / Cloud Migration: Selected by IBM Security Systems CTO to manage large, visible, overdue internal project of migrating the systems and customers of an acquired IT cloud services provider to IBM’s cloud, “Softlayer.” Managed team of multiple architects (FL, UK, Belgium), Operations (GA, UT, FL) and Services personnel (national) to create, schedule and manage to completion this large internal project. 17 subprojects (individual customer, IBM Operations, Test, etc.) cohered into large consolidated / master project. 2500-WBS.

Systems Development & Delivery: Recruited to spearhead Sun Microsystem’s high-value content management expansion. Partnered with digital content providers to identify and capture new market opportunities in high-value content acquisition, security, distribution, storage and archiving. Working with studios and Sun labs, defined and built high-volume (petabyte) content storage systems. Working with studio executives and technical teams, built digital model for the long-term retention and archiving of high-value content, secured and delivered demonstration projects with major studios, and worked with technical experts to define and execute project requirements. Presented at major technical conferences including SMPTE, HPA Tech Retreat (twice), JTS2007 (UNESCO archiving overarching body), and AMIA/REEL Thing (Hollywood content archiving), as well as with presidents of technical operations and the major studios.

Created a cost-effective, reliable, secure digital archiving model as a revenue-generating alternative to traditional content archives and IT back-office applications.

Wrote and published “Archiving Movies in a Digital World,” increasing awareness and industry acceptance of digital archiving for terabyte objects as an efficient, long-term retention solution for irreplaceable unstructured digital content.

System Development: Led team of direct and matrix reports, contractors and subcontracting vendor, for technically new digital content storage, distribution and delivery system for high-value content. Directed the full project lifecycle overseeing project planning, requirements gathering and documentation, design and testing, multi-phase development, change control, and delivery. Recruited and managed five internal developers, managed vendor contract (IBM, $5M) of 48 offshore development professionals. BUENA VISTA DATACASTING / WALT DISNEY, Los Angeles, CA 2002 – 2004

PROGRAM MANAGER

Product / System Development: Led the development and implementation of Disney’s $50M+ consumer content delivery system. Project begun at IBM, then hired by Disney to create staffing model, subsystem relationships and needed component systems. Directed project planning and execution, led application development and systems integration, drove prototyping and testing, facilitated training for developers and steered product and service hardware and software offering. Managed 16 concurrent subprojects (4,500+ WBS). Directed international vendors, subcontractors, project managers, engineers, and programmers across the US, Europe, and Southeast Asia. Contracted with outside Test vendor for systems test. Trained subproject (Samsung, Dotcast, internal) Project Managers on MS Project, Change Management and waterfall project management. Rescued highly visible F50 content management, workflow project that was 200 days past its delivery date, architected digital archive/delivery system for unstructured, high-value, time-sensitive content/data for F50 company.

Led team that designed and delivered front-end automation architecture for major theme park; included all park back office and customer-facing systems: Ticketing, messaging, reservations, customer management, travel & hospitality, etc.
