Materials, Supply Chain & Purchasing Manager

-Strategic supply chain management including outside conversion, materials planning, inventory management, additive powder manufacturing, master production scheduling, and warehousing in a JIT Lean Manufacturing operation.

-Development of supply chain management programs/partnerships with long term contracts/supplier agreements to insure increased inventory turns, increased on time delivery and decreased costs of goods.

-Accountable for the annual physical inventory and inventory cycle counts for finished goods, raw materials and supplies for 3 production facilities, 4 warehouses and multiple outside converters.

-Oversee three facilities handling demand, supply planning, forecasting, inventory, new product launches and business planning.

-Conduct market and internal data analysis to ensure supplier performance on business defined metrics; cost out, OTD and quality. Manage supplier performance and improvement.

-Responsible for managing supply chain management, purchasing for three production facilities both domestically and internationally, building vendor relationships both suppliers and outside material converters, inventory control for three warehouses, shipping / logistics, production scheduling and forecasting.

Accomplishments:

-Credited with achieving a physical inventory variance of .23%.

-At the Bridgeville facility, reduced inventory assets from $15.5 to $12.7 million which increased inventory turns from 3 to 4 and decreased cost of goods sold by 19%.

-Achieved a cost savings of $660,000 by improving the one type of raw material used to make tool steel melt.

-Achieved a cost savings of $1,140,000 by improved sourcing and negotiation with raw material vendors and outside converters/tolling partners.

-Developed a billet stocking program for plate and bar products which reduced customer deliveries by 6 weeks.

-Implemented a comprehensive new computer system for planning, scheduling, purchasing and accounting systems.

-Improved customer on time performance from 78% to 92% by providing schedules and forecasts to outside vendors to improve customer responsiveness.
