Spoke on Considering FDA and World Usability Regulations in Software Verification Testing. at the 20TH Software Design for Medical Devices during a panel discussion on Incorporating Human Factors & Usability into Marketable Medical Devices to Ensure Product Success.
In ten months, supervised and trained one engineer, wrote bug fix and new feature test cases for ADVIA 1800 and 2400 Chemistry Analyzers, and released the software.
Regression tested multiple software builds for ADVIA 1200 and 1650 Analyzers resulted in six month release.
Added 15% new information to Software Requirements documents, test plans, and test design documents authored by co-workers and wrote new feature requirements, test plans, and test designs.
Released XPT software one month early by performance of Calibration, General Enhancement, UI enhancement, and Regression test cases on multiple software versions.
Sample Tracking and Language test case authorship and execution on multiple builds allowed for one year release.
Effectively tested three builds of Method Deletion Utility software and released one month early.
Cut the estimated completion time by half by assisting in testing the Operator’s guide and Online help in multiple languages for the Customer Documentation department.
More effective supervision by supervisor was accomplished through on time work reports and input provided as a Verification Representative at Project Management meetings.
Quicker developer fixes were accomplished through clarification of bug reporting and severity level determination at Software Change Review Board meetings.
Acted as Technical Expert for software installation instruction Test Plans and Test Reports for Product Support involving printers and keyboards and aided in testing.

Software Validation Technician (Contractor)
Increased build release time by 50% while exchanging testing methods in Japan for seven weeks due to immediately tested updates written by JEOL software programmers.
Test efficiency was increased 25% through feedback during LIS and ADVIA Chemistry interactions testing.
Multiple build Regression testing, Database Stress Test, General enhancement and UI enhancement test authorship and performance led to release in one year.
Faster developer fixes, fix verification, and precise bug reporting were accomplished through authorship and facilitation of new feature calibration testing on ADVIA 1650, 1800, and 2400 Analyzers.
On time release of Test Definition software for Centaur CP. XP, and Classic Immunology Analyzers was accomplished by installation verification and utilization of build comparison software.
Bayer Diagnostics Tarrytown, NY June 2004 – March 2006
Clinical Chemist (Contractor)
Tested ADVIA 2400 70ml reagent containers for pipet errors due to reagent tray revolution speed followed by testing concentrated reagent packs and subsequent release of 15 new assays.
Developed new contamination set for one test due to saline diluent causing errant values every third sample which began study of all therapeutic drugs assays to determine contamination settings.
Determined Rerun dilutions on ADVIA 1200 Analyzer for over 20 assays transferred from ADVIA 1650 Analyzer.
Extended linearity range of Multi-standard calibration so error rate was within 5% acceptance range
Resolved linearity issue using IMS reagents mixed versus ADVIA reagents which led to release of new version of one blood and urine chemistry assay test.
Studied current Prozone setting, researched, and determined new settings for two tests to correct hook effect produced when sample concentration oversaturated reagent concentration.
Correlation and linearity studies for reagent lot to lot led to release of 25 new blood and urine chemistry assays.
Optimized Parameters of over 20 already released assays on ADVIA 1200, 1650, and 2400 Chemistry Analyzers led to second release.
