Responsibilities
a) Climate for learning
Ensure that school in relation to effective learning, are successfully implemented to secure a well ordered and disciplined teaching and learning environment that leads to students making outstanding progress.
b) Provision
Provide overall direction for student learning, ensuring that provision is made for
students of all abilities, that they are effectively taught and that learning and
achievement over time are evident. Work with other staff in contributing to the total
learning of students including extension and enrichment activities.
c) Curriculum Planning and Development
Follow the principles of the school’s curriculum planning and development framework
in preparing, delivering and developing with others (staff and partners from industry
and commerce) aspects of the curriculum. Ensure that the curriculum incorporates
contextual learning, using a range of educational and business partners which
engage and enthuse pupils.
d) Standards
Set and maintain high standards, expectations and aspirations for both staff and
students, ensuring that they are treated with dignity and respect, and that they
receive appropriate guidance, support and recognition.
e) Planning of Teaching and Learning
Ensure the preparation, planning and delivery of the agreed learning programmes,
utilising flexible approaches to learning including the application of E learning. Be a

a) Data
Use data to establish numeracy levels of all new pupils and regularly monitor, evaluate and plan effective intervention for all pupils below expected levels.
b) Create and Implement a Whole School Numeracy Policy
Ensure that it is the responsibility of all staff in the school to raise standards of numeracy. Monitor the policy and its effectiveness and take action to constantly improve standards.
c) Numeracy across the curriculum
Ensure that every subject area contributes to numeracy development in a planned and effective way.
d) Inspire
Through innovative approaches to numeracy development, inspire pupils to have a love of mathematics.
e) Resources
Use both staff and other resources for maximum impact on pupils’ progress in numeracy. Provides individualized, classroom-based support to implement comprehensive program, including modeling of best teaching practices.
f) Staff Training
Be responsible for all staff having the necessary expertise, knowledge and understanding to successfully and actively. Research-validated information regarding a range of effective and innovative Mathematics practices through various activities such as; individual discussions (formal or informal); coaching sessions; demonstrations of lessons with pre/post discussions and analysis; study groups; staff meetings; and professional development program.
Responsibilities and Experience as Math Teacher
●Plan developmentally appropriate lessons and learning activities that address the Common CoreState Standards (CCSS)/Cambridge International Examinations (CIE).
●Appropriate planning includes:
a)Develop a yearly plan/pacing chart aligned to the (CCSS/CIE)
b)Design unit or weekly lesson plans that support the yearly plan.
c)Differentiate instructional plans for at-risk and for academically talented students.
●Plan for appropriate materials use, field trips, and other special learning events that support and enhance instructional goals.
●Prepare clear lesson plans and instructions for substitutes.
●Deliver well-organized, well-connected, smoothly flowing lessons that require active student participation and that students understand.
Analyze test data and other diagnostic information and use this information in planning.
●Use assessment as an integral element in instruction. Check student work and provide feedback in a timely manner.
●Be knowledgeable of and use current technologies in planning, communications, and in instruction.
●Work cooperatively with all staff members, consistently maintain a professional attitude and work as an effective member of the high school “team”.
●Effectively manage student behavior by developing, teaching, and implementing a classroom management/student behavior plan.
