SENIOR CAPSTONE PROJECT August 2016-May 2017
Goal: To create a spinal alignment measuring device for adolescent idiopathic scoliosis in order to achieve better brace making Technical Engineer
Worked closely with National Scoliosis Center as a team to build a spinal alignment measuring device
Operated Formetric machine (captures the spine alignment in real time) to collect the data
Designed and constructed spinal alignment measuring device using software systems for adolescent idiopathic scoliosis
Programmed MATLAB code to validate our system’s accuracy with VICON motion capture system which uses imaging system and camera in 3D coordinates to provide the real time measurement of spine alignment for adolescent idiopathic scoliosis patient and analyzed the data(measurement) using clustering algorithm for calculating the accuracy
Developed and improved spinal alignment measuring device by testing, troubleshooting, and validating
