Summary of Work Experience:
10 years of hands on experience in the fields of engineering, course instruction and private tutoring. Engineer/Engineering Manager Nov 13 to Present
Cobalt Construction Company, Santa Ana, CA
At Cobalt, I participate in various projects such as numerical analyses of underground structures and structural components, managing the engineering team, market research studies for innovative in- house products, producing marketing material and media, writing papers and articles for publication and conference presentations and office planning and organization. In addition, I participate in multifamily housing construction projects within the Company, performing tasks such as creation of construction documents, design of details, RFI preparation, calculations and estimating, etc. Working at a company of a smaller scale has given me the exceptional opportunity to learn a lot about all different aspects of the construction industry and grow from a researcher engineer to an engineer in practice.

Assistant Lecturer Aug 10 to Nov 10
Anglia Ruskin University, UK
This position was offered to me by my undergraduate supervisor. Through this exciting volunteer job I experienced the classroom environment from a different point of view; I spent time helping students on a one-on-one basis and also through after class small group sessions. Part-time Student Bridge Engineer Oct 07 to Jun 09 Mouchel Group Plc, Chelmsford, Essex, UK
As a member of the bridge team, I worked with LUSAS FE package to reassess pre-existing structures, built to old standards, in order to ensure compliance with recent values. Failed structures were designed for reinforcement or replacement. It was a great opportunity, with invaluable experiences, to work in a professional engineering environment. Mentee at an Industrial Mentoring Scheme Nov 05 to May 06 Atkins Global, UK
As a final year undergraduate I participated in a University scheme through which students were paired up with professional engineers to experience the environment of the industry. The scheme helped me improve my presentation, interview, time management, project planning and team working skills.
Part-time retail assistant Apr 04 to Jun 08
Farm Foods Ltd., Chelmsford, Essex, UK
Working at Farm Foods gave me the opportunity to cooperate with people of different cultures and characters. Being part of a team at all times, I developed the ability to successfully deal with different individual and group attitudes.
Part-time Project Translator Jan 03 to Jul 03
Tarh-e-Haftom Consultant Engineers, Tehran, Iran
During the few months at Tarh-e-Haftom, I worked in a professional engineering environment, amongst Consultants, Engineers and Architects. As the translator, I participated in the company’s international projects on roads, railway, etc. This experience encouraged me in choosing Civil Engineering as my degree subject.
Mathematics Tuition Jun 2000 to Present
Private
I have always had a high aptitude with mathematics. My belief in the beauty of “sharing your knowledge with others”, as well as the importance of mathematics in everyday life, has urged me to help students in improving their math skills.

Structural Dynamic Stress Analysis Using Finite Element Simulation (ANSYS/LS-DYNA®) The research initiates with the Dynamic Stress Analysis of Structures based on FE Method. The concentration is on the dynamic stress analysis of a specific type of egg-box shaped energy absorbing structure utilized as cushions, for human safety. The FE Package, ANSYS/LS-DYNA®, is employed to simulate the structure and analyze its dynamic stress behavior. The software results are compared with those of experimental static and dynamic experimental tests. Following the approval of the FE model, optimized structures in terms of geometry and material are proposed using the FE model. This reduces the need for constantly repeating costly and time consuming experimental tests.
BSc Dissertation Subject:
Space Structures: Use of Formian Software to Generate Spatial Forms My undergraduate dissertation presents a selective review of Space Structures in terms of their types and components and the history of their evolution in the construction industry. The dissertation subsequently discusses formex algebra which is the basic mathematical approach for Formian Software, used in my work to generate models of such structures. The results of 2D and 3D spatial structural configurations produced using Formian 2.0 software are presented and discussed in the final section of my work.
