Internship Profile

I have done my internship at KPTCL located at Mummigatti Dharwad. I have undergone training in 220KV Sub Station maintenance from 20 06 2015 to 30 06 2015. During my internship I learnt about how the practically step down of voltage has been done, what are all the equipment use to build a substation. I learnt about DC charging set called as Heart of the station. I also came to know about the practical illustration of how the power is restored after a short circuit. Remote Terminal Unit, relay, circuit breaker working, Gang operating system (GOS), 20 MVA transformers, lighting arresters, insulators were shown there. Academic Project Profile:

Mini Project: 1kW Sine Wave Inverter

Team Size: 4

Description: The main theme of the project was to concentrate on1kW sine wave inversion. It mainly involved IC CD4047which formed the brain of the model and operated in astable state, giving signals to the each set of MOSFETs with a phase difference. 4pairs of MOSFET convert the signal received by the IC. Initially the power is taken from DC source and fed to the IC and respective components. The 2P4M SCR switches the first set of MOSFETs in the positive cycle n another set in the negative cycle. For the protection of inverter we rig up the low battery indicator, low battery cut off and no load circuits. The output got across each sets of MOSFETs is fed to a step up transformer and thus we get the 230V pure AC output voltage. Major Project: Free Space Optical Communication.

Description: Our main motto is, end to end communication through Laser. Instead of RF signals, light from a laser is used as the carrier in the circuit. The transmitter uses 9V power supply, a 3V laser torch is directly connected to the circuit with the body of the torch connected to the emitter of BD139 power transistor and the spring-loaded lead protruding from inside the torch to circuit ground. The receiver uses an 2N5777 NPN photo transistor is oriented towards the laser beam followed by a two stage transistor amplifier and LM386 based audio amplifier.

Participated in Statewide Enginnering IT Quiz Techbytes conducted by TCS and Board of IT Education Standards (BITES) in BVB Hubli in 2016 hosted by Quiz master Llyod Saldanha 5. Participated in TCS Codevita 2016.

6. Participated in “National Workshop on Prominence of PV systems In Green Energy development” held at SDMCET during October 2016.

7. Participated in KPIT SPARKLE 2015 and KPIT SPARKLE 16 and my idea was selected for Prototyping phase in 2016.
