Project Description:
The Seed Review Team constituted by Govt. of India during 1968 suggested to set-up Seed Certification Agencies in various States. On recommendation of the Seed Review Team, a separate Seed Certification Wing started functioning under the Directorate of Agriculture from 1974. Soon after registered under Societies Registration Act of 1860, an independent Certification Body started functioning as Orissa State Seed Certification Agency (OSSCA) with effect from 01.09.1978. OSSCA is a legally sanctioned Agency for Certify seeds of any notified kind or varieties and for quality control of seed multiplication and production. Seed certification procedures and designed to ensure physical and genetic purity, freedom from weed seeds and diseases and good germ inability of the certified seed.
There are six broad phases of Seed Certification namely:
Receipt and Scrutiny of application.
Verification of seed source, class and other requirements of the seed used for raising the seed crop.
Field inspections to verify conformity to the prescribed seed standards.
Supervision at post harvest stages including processing and packing.
Seed sampling and analysis, including genetic purity test and/or seed health test, if any, in Order to verify conformity to the prescribed standards through the prescribed testing method.

Operating Statistics which covers the major part of the Transportation Statistics requires the data of Combined Train Report (CTR) and Shunting Vouchers (SV) received from various Crew Booking Points all over the Zonal Railway. It also requires some additional information from sources like Stations, Yards, Sheds, Divisional Headquarter Offices, and Zonal Headquarter Offices etc.
