COMPUTER OPERATOR ON UNISYS 1100 MAINFRAME COMPUTER

I began my career in March of 1978 as a computer operator on a Unisys 1100 Mainframe at the Arkansas Employment Security Division. As a computer operator I performed various tasks such as printing unemployment checks on an impact printer, changing disc drives and reel-to-reel tapes. A year later I was promoted to Lead Computer Operator where I was in charge of 2nd shift operations. As Lead Computer Operator, I supervised 5 computer operators.

PROGRAMMER ANALYST ON A UNISYS 1100 MAINFRAME COMPUTER

In 1981, I was promoted from a Lead Computer Operator to Programmer Analyst on Unisys 1100 computer at the Arkansas Employment Security Division. I programmed using the COBOL programming language, I was primarily responsible for programming the unemployment insurance checks.

PROGRAMMER ANALYST ON UNISYS 1100 MAINFRAME

In March 1985, I took a Programmer Analyst position at the Circle K Corporation. I relocated to Phoenix Arizona. The Circle K Corporation had a Unisys 1100 mainframe computer, all applications at Circle K Corporation were written in the COBOL programming language. My primary responsibility at Circle K was to maintain the MSA Payroll package. The MSA payroll package was a third party vendor application written in Cobol. My responsibility was to make user modifications to the software to meet the requirements of Circle K. Corporation.

In October 1987, I was hired as a Programmer Analyst with the City of Scottsdale. The City of Scottsdale also had a Unisys 1100 mainframe computer. My responsibilities were supporting the MSA Payroll and Accounting vendor packages that were writing in the COBOL programing language. I obtained my experience on those packages while working at Circle K Corporation.

[LEAD TECHNOLOGISTS ON UNIX COMPUTER]

Early 1997, I was promoted from a Programmer Analyst to a Lead Technologist. The City of Scottsdale migrated to an HP Unix computer. I received Oracle training on the Unix computer. I was the lead project leader for migrating the Sales 1Tax and Licensing applications from the Unisys 1100 mainframe to the Unix computer. We converted the COBOL programs to Oracle SQL*FORMS application this process took approximately two years to complete.

[LEAD TECHNOLOGISTS ON WINDOWS COMPUTER]

In 2001, I received training for Microsoft SQL Server and learned to write Transact SQL stored procedures, I also learn Microsoft Visual Basic 6. I began developing various applications using classic ASP. I wrote a Prosecution Information Network (PIN) Windows Forms application in 2008, in C# .Net.

The application managed criminal cases for the city's prosecutors. The application was a Windows Forms application that contains over 300 screens, and over 400 database tables. The application won a national award.

SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER ON WINDOWS COMPUTER

In 2011, I was promoted from a Lead Technologists to a Senior Software Engineer. In 2014, I worked on a new Water Work Order Management application for the City of Scottsdale. The application was an ASP.Net MVC forms application. The backend used SQL Server Database using Entity Framework. I lead a team using AGILE development.

The application uses ARCGIS maps to store all of the assets for the Water Department, such as meters, hydrants, vaults etc. The application was deployed on laptops and tablets and are used by employees of the Water Department throughout the city, connected via cellular network. The project was completed in 2015.

In 2015, I began writing new a new Street Operations Work Order Management system, similar to the Water Work Order Management System. The application was written as an ASP.Net MVC forms application. The backend uses a SQL Server database access with Entity Framework. .The application was deployed laptops and tablets and are used by employees of the Street Operations department throughout the city. The project was completed in 2016.
