Resume:

Oct. **, ****

Dear Sir/Madam:

Recently I decided to relocate from Rochester, NY to Austin, TX. In seeking pre-qualification for a home loan, I found that requirements have changed since 2007, the last year I moved or sought to buy a house. Previously, a person with excellent credit but no job could get a home loan based on their previous employment history. Times have changed and the bank rep I am working with in Austin has indicated that to get a loan today, I need a job offer from a local employer by the time I reach the closing date. This news has only altered my plans a bit but has not dissuaded me.

I hope to have my current home on the market and under contract within a month. My local realtor believes based on the area in which I live and my home’s condition, I should see it sold within a week. Having the current home under contract is also a requirement today for a loan on a home in or around Austin.

To this end I am looking to find a job in my field as a Sr. Software Engineer in Austin or the surrounding area. I would not be able to start at it until I have relocated, a process I predict I can complete by the end of 2017 if not before, good fortune permitting. I could also start a new position remotely until my move is executed.

Please find my resume below for your review. In addition, I can provide the names and numbers of the realtor in Austin and the bank rep with whom she works regularly should you feel the need to talk to them. Work references are available also upon request. After initial screening and/or a Skype interview, I can if a job looks like a very likely fit, fly to Austin for an in-person interview also. I will be in Austin Nov. 5-8 so we can meet on the 6th or 7th if you would like or I can fly back to Austin at some other time.

In the case of contracting agencies (i.e., employment recruitment agencies for whom a person works as a W-2 employee but on a client site), the bank rep has indicated that an offer from such an agency is sufficient even if no client to place the employee on site has been identified. Under those circumstances, I would take a position on site at a client of the agency’s choosing after I arrive at least for the duration of the contract. I can make this assurance in writing if desired so it is an enforceable condition on the agency’s part.

Let me know if you are interested in discussing my candidacy as a potential employee further.

Sincerely yours,

Matthew Campbell
