UCF Engineering Project

• Aircraft Mechanic: complete all repairs and maintenance work to comply to FAA regulations; examine vital aircraft components including landing gear and hydraulic systems; inspect fuselage wings; tail using x-ray and magnetic inspection; disassemble, repair and reassemble aircraft engines; utilize precision instrument and equipment to look closely at components like turbine blades for corrosion and cracks.

• Aviation Design: hands-on experience with aircraft design, construction, and test flying. The planes were designed using SolidWorks and then tested with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software and flow testing in on campus wind tunnel.

• Rocket Project: Learned basics of rocketry and general engineering software like SolidWorks to build model rockets that meet specific performance goals by customizing different aspects of their rockets. Pre and post-processing of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) runs, including detailed analysis of completed runs and generation of reports. Preparation of geometry for experimental CFD work. Performed analysis with formulas derived from Newtonian physics from an Orbital Mechanics course.

• Designed, collaborated, and constructed a robotic hand using solid works where the final design was printed in 3D.
