Brief on MITD: The MITD is a Government –owned organization which is an enhanced provider of training. The MITD operates 25 training centres catering for students of age 16 years and above possessing Minimum qualification Form III (Three years secondary schooling) up to the Higher School Certificate. The MITD is the only public organization responsible of training in the different fields namely Engineering, Tourism & Hotel Trades, Information Technology and Communications, Beauty Therapy and Hairdressing, Textile Technology and Garment Making, Automotive Trades, Driving, Jewelry, etc.
Training is offered at different levels from Certificate to Diploma.
My involvement in MITD: As Clerk/WPO in the Procurement Division, my responsibilities are the following
My future projects: I believe in my competences and my capacity as an adult who aspires to embrace a brighter future. I am very enthusiastic to meet challenges and I firmly believe that I could prove myself in the event I am given the opportunity.
Furthermore, I like travelling and meet different people and communities with a view to sharing cultures and traditions, ideas and concepts and learning from/with them.
Since my childhood I was fascinated with life abroad going beyond the horizon and always looking for a more competitive edge. It has always been my wish to work abroad.
Why do I want to join a team abroad: Mauritius being a small island is in the phase of being developed, but still there is long way to go for better prospects. I have perused several prospectuses on life in Canada and my choice has finally landed in this country.
Why Canada? I have gone through the political history of Canada and its democratic status has really conquered me. I would feel like living in my native country, Mauritius. The climate, despite very cold in Winter, I feel enjoying it. The industrial development of Canada has given opportunity for immigration of citizens from different countries in the world who today have contributed to the economic development of the country besides these citizens enjoying a pleasant living.
Coupled with the demography, climate, industrial development and warmth of its people, Canada has a warm population where security, law and order are of prime importance. It represents for me my to-be country of adoption. More so, the languages spoken are familiar to me as I am bilingual, ie besides speaking my native language, I can speak English and French. Also Canada offers a wide spectrum of jobs in which I believe that I can make a career.
As I am a hard worker, I can be assigned any job as per my qualifications and experience.
My preferences for job: Administrative Clerk, Accounts Clerk for banks and financial companies, Clerical Officer. I can also join the Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy Sector, the Child Care, Pre-Primary Education Sector, etc.
