Watch guarding certain sites for the MOU per drop issues using tools like NERF and METRICA and further investigating on those sites for any possible Drop calls issues.

Using CNA efficiently for accuracy of the job being assigned and thereby ensuring the network reliability and preparedness for any kind of fallback issues.

BTS Rehomes Engineer & E911 Help Desk Engineer (Cingular – Pleasanton, CA) Jun 2004 – Nov 2004

Responsibilities:

BTS Rehomes Engineer

Rehoming the cell site to new BSC and to balance the traffic between existing BSC’s.

Preparing the site for Rehome, Deleting the site from the old Switch or BSC, Swinging the T1’s, running the CNA job, adding the site in the new Switch or BSC.

Collecting Site data, creating and editing DT’s, defining and de-block dips, performing allips, alarm checking on all switches.

Manual blocking of Managed Objects, removing them from service and undefined them using the OPS.

Building the CNA job includes assigning the radio frequencies and neighbor cells relations, changing LAC & RO values according to the new switch.

Check & compare with the old BSC to see if it requires any BTS software changes.

Follow up with the End Techs for the T1 cuts, or do them manually if they are new bridge (Alcatel 5620) or Backhaul (Alcatel 1631) cuts as appropriately.

Adding the site to the new switch, defining the Managed Object’s, restoring them to service, de-block them and ensures that the sites are loading and are operational.

Cleaning up after rehome, including blocking of devices and dips in the old BSC, checking that the sites is external in the old BSC.

Run adjustment and consistency check jobs in order to wrap up the rehomes.

Fill out the shift report and email it to the appropriate group at the end of the day.

E911 Help Desk Engineer

Support NOC group in Capitalized work, such as E911 and EDGE related tasks.

Log in and Log out techs into cell sites for the assigned Planned Works. An authorized Planned Work is required for any potentially service affecting work.

Log in techs and keep the Pre and Post health check of the site. By running this PRE health check, the tech can be made aware of any pre-existing alarms on the site. Trouble Tickets are verified and created if necessary.

While logging out tech from the site, a full health check is done on the site to verify if the site is taking traffic and nothing was disturbed. Any new alarms will be dealt with and the tech will be logged out of Remedy.

Provide troubleshooting and site support. This includes clearing of alarms, T1 issues, generating trouble tickets whenever needed and notify to NOC senior if any service affecting issues arise.

Store Pre and Post health check logs to be easily used as future reference.
