ACADEMIC PROJECTS

A Parallel Implementation of Apriori Algorithm for Mining Frequent Itemsets in Hadoop MapReduce Framework (October 2016 – May 2017) (MS-Thesis)

We used real life, huge transactional database to find association within the elements and identify frequent patterns over a distributed network. Based on multiple evaluations, the proposed application was highly efficient and effective in generating results. This work could be fruitful to businesses in real life to analyze their day to day transactions and gain knowledge which might help them grow in the market.

Content Management System (September 2010 – May 2016)

Within five years of undergraduate and graduate study, I have been involved in development of more than 5 content management system. I have used Java as primary programming language and MySQL for database. For later projects, I used Spring framework for application development.

Calculating Search Term Relevance in Home Depot Data using MapReduce Framework (Feb 2016 – Mar 2016)

This problem was a competition hosted by Kaggle to calculate degree of relevance of a search query. We used python as primary programming language and regression for training purposes. Our implementation was ranked one of the highest in the competition.

Emotion Analyzer: Implementation of Neural Networks to Train a Machine to Determine Human Emotion Using the Facial Expressions (Feb 2013 – Oct 2013)

We designed a neural network for training purposes in recognizing 7 universal human emotions. We used each facial feature’s co-ordinates as input. Our experiment was highly successful with around 70% accuracy rate and it was selected as one of the best project of the university at the time.
