Unpaid Internship - 2 weeks April 2013

My internship was to get a comprehensive understanding of the I.T. department, all the functions that it entails, and to be given work experience in each department. Unfortunately, two days in, my primary supervisor had to leave for a death in the family, which left me to take up many of her responsibilities for the remainder of the internship.

PERSONAL

Actor- I’ve always had a passion and drive for acting and I use the associated skills regularly: vocal control, on-the-fly changes to a schedule or workflow, improvisation, and note taking just to name some.

Engineer- I’ve had a lifelong knack for engineering in many forms. From racing electric ‘go karts’ to building catapults out of sticks and rubber bands. From AP Computer Science to Systems and Design Courses. It’s promoted an almost Zen like understanding in critical thinking all the way to an almost philosophical level.

Customer Satisfaction- If there is anything I can unequivocally do, it’s talk to people. My first mastery at Five Guys was the register. I had many and regular compliments about my customer handling ability, from first time customers, regular customers, quality control specialists, all the way to getting a compliment from one of the Murrell's.

Drive- “If you are five minutes early, you are on time. If you are on time, you are late. If you are late, you are fired.”

“If you have ‘done everything there is to do’, you don’t know about everything there is to do.”

“No matter your duties, your job isn’t done until every speck of dust is off the floor.”

I pride myself on my instinct to do. To accomplish. I don’t like sitting around not doing anything. There is always more to do. Even if it is insignificant, or ‘someone else will do it’, or if it is unimportant. If it’s something to be done, then I will try to do it in time.
