Independent Contractor 06/00 – Present

As an independent contractor, I am responsible for online and batch applications that facilitate via a telephone inquiry from a provider or client, to retrieve medical claim information and relay this information back to the inquirer. The information is relayed either by telephone or by producing documents at their clients’ sites. I have rewritten these applications, converting them from IMS to DB2 and made them MVS Cobol compliant. These applications utilize a periphonics front-end, MQSeries middleware, and mainframe back-end.

Application Development Specialist assigned to several companies to perform professional software development. This includes all aspects of software development life cycle, analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging, installation, support and maintenance, quality assurance review, problem determination / resolution, reporting, processing run time enhancements, and consulting for the following industries:

As a consultant for Computer Aid I performed work for AMP Incorporated. Responsibilities included designing, coding, testing, implementation and user training of a purchasing online information system using the 10.0 release of IDMS/R database. The system was coded using the ADS/O online language.

As an analyst and programmer for the Treasury Department, I was responsible for writing new batch Cobol and Easytrieve Plus programs for the conversion of card checking to paper checking. Created online programs used to update information contained on the new checks via GENER/OL. Wrote front-end edit programs for the Treasury Automated Bookkeeping System (TABS). Updated CICS Cobol programs to create end user improvements. Revised the Public Assistance Check System (PACS) which was converted from VSAM to DL-1 Database.

ELECTRONIC DATA SYSTEMS CORPORATION 01/81 - 11/83

Camp Hill, Pa.

After successfully completing the Systems Engineering Development (SED) program I was assigned to various project teams, primarily government projects such as the Kentucky Food Stamp Program. Responsible for coding, designing, and testing batch and CICS Online programs using Cobol as the primary programming language. Most online programs were written in CICS using VSAM, IMS. Development of UADPS Level II Project, which was an inventory control point system to be put through a quality assurance team set-up in house. The program code was reviewed for structure, most efficient layout of the working-storage section within the program, and keeping within EDS standards. After structured walk through, developed four separate documents for each program to assure quality of product. These included an

Input Preparation User Manual, System Overview Manual, Detailed Processing Manual (to include detailed test, executed test plans), Computer Report Interpretation and User Manual. In-house training was provided for development of these manuals.
