Work with Architect, Structural Engineer, Mechanical Engineer and Designer to prepare layout drawings of updated facility and submit request to city for Demolition and refurbishing permits. Sasol Lake Charles Chemical Plant, Sasol Mega EPCM Gas to Liquid (GTL) Project -Cracker Project, Lake Charles, LA, USA (Oil and Gas)

An EP&CM contract to build Sasol's Louisiana Ethane Cracker (Gas to Liquid -GTL) and derivatives complex. This constituted a total of 7 facilities estimated to cost US$14 billion. The Ethane Cracker uses Technip's proprietary technology to produce 1.5 million tons of Ethylene annually. A Fluor/Technip joint venture. Modularization has been a key component of the project with Modules fabricated in China. The Ethane Cracker is estimated at US$8.1 billion.

Project Responsibilities.

Project Manager with responsibility for Mechanical Discipline/ Mechanical Equipment, Electrical Discipline, Piping Layout and for multi-disciplinary coordination to resolve technical issues.

Develop and maintain Early Vessel Dress-out Plan and track / coordinate engineering activities and status of Material Ordered. Work with pressure vessel team to finalize Vessel/Tower design.

Schedule/Participate in various project meetings with: Project Management team, Engineering Management Team, Client's Engineers, and Engineering Team in other cost centers on project located in Mumbai India, Vendors, and Multi- Disciplinary Design Engineering Team.

The activities included using P&ID developed to design and prepare Piping Isometric sketches for Construction and to supervise construction and commissioning activities. The Natural Gas Conversion of the plants system included the installation of Metering Stations, piping, isolation valves, allowances for purging, Pressure control valves, Pressure Relief Valves, Flow Elements, piping supports, vent lines, separators for capturing solid particles and liquid. The systems converted were: Autoclave Process Plant: Boiler #2, Boiler #3, Boiler #4 and Carbon Kiln. Prepare piping Tie-in/Interface Packages.

Look at the feasibility of establishing a Uranium Refinery in Elkon Russia. The activities included: Prepare equipment specifications, Perform Bid Reviews, Provide MTO's and costs for project capital estimate, size mechanical equipment, coordinate layout with designer and with other disciplines, input equipment data in equipment list. Bruce Nuclear Power, Unit 1&2 Restart, Tiverton, Ontario, Canada (Nuclear Energy)

Bruce Power evaluated and selected a method to effectively treat the turbine building area (TBA) sump wastewater from the four Units in Bruce A prior to its release into the environment (Lake Huron). The sump water contained elevated levels of feed water treatment chemicals, primarily hydrazine, which in combination with the low levels of total dissolved solids in the Waste condensate contributed to the toxicity of the effluent. The Project scope included :

Perform engineering to rehabilitate a decommissioned water treatment facility to treat Hydrazine and other chemicals. ETI Aluminum, ETI Aluminum Operational Audit, Seydesehir, Konya, Turkey (Bauxite Mining and Processing)

Perform Survey/Audit of Alumina Refinery and focusing on the following: Maximizing Production by modifying filter screen, introduce polypropylene filter media and work with process consultant to introduce filter aid to filtration process. This resulted in changing the color of the hydrate from pink to white. Plant was able to produce more hydrate for the market. Recommend a management structure for both the operations and maintenance department and specifying roles for key individuals. Introduce maintenance practices that are commonly used in the industry and highlight their advantages. Introduce the concept of Key performance indicators, select critical equipment in the process and demonstrate how to prepare equipment reliability reports.
