Information Systems & Technology Specialist (IS&T)

As IT support specialist, I deliver daily operations of International House's data and voice networks, report to the Chief Operating Officer, and work in conjunction with all organizational managers and directors. These daily operations are represented by the following actions:

Troubleshoot and provide all hardware, software and network operating system maintenance; deliver ongoing maintenance to approximately 70 Workstations using Windows 10 operating system;

Perform standard Active directory administrative tasks, i.e. setting up user accounts, shares, and permissions; downloading and installation of software updates; handle 24/7 on-call duties of events monitoring and correcting users problems serving 40 staff, 20 board members, 350 residents, and general public;

Diagnose hardware problems and provide repairs internally where possible to save organizational resources;

Perform systems backup using Altaro Hyper-V; participate in IT Audit annually with independent auditors;

Provide ongoing monitoring of all networks w/SiteScope 8.0 and PRTG Network Monitor v15;

Provide all levels IT support for all employees both in-person and via phone/remote access;

Work with consulting companies and outside vendors, detail oriented; follow established policies and procedures;

Oversee part-time student-staff and hardware in the 24/7 Computer Center and 24/7 Study Room;

Install and monitor performance of wired and wireless networks to maximize operations by utilizing personal knowledge of data communication wiring (CAT5/5E/6/6E and Fiber);

Evaluate, install, and support LAN and WAN hardware and software in a 14-story 250,000 sq. ft. building;

Install and maintain all building wireless systems including Ruckus Wi-Fi Zone Director communication device and 55 access points; manage required wireless test equipment for troubleshooting;

Install and maintain peripheral components including multiple laser printers, copiers, scanners, routers, network switches, DSL boxes and cabling;

Support voice network of 500 digital/analog line Mitel SX-2000 Light PBX, integrated Centigram voicemail and Xiox call accounting systems; ensure ongoing maintenance of voice network hardware and software;
