Mega Nuclear Power Project in Kudankulam.
Was actively associated with the minor port construction, obtaining
clearances for functioning of the port, Barge movement and road
movement of ODC / OWC packages ( Expert on ODC Movement and
Logistics ). Managed a work force of 120 persons at the project site.
01.01.2008 to 27.04.2008 Part time consultant attending to Project cargo loading in Italy for
Indian Business House through J.B.Boda Surveyors Pvt Ltd.,
Mumbai. Carried out safety and navigation audits on board
chemical tankers between Bangkok and Singapore with
Philippine and Korean crew.
01.04.2007 to 31.12.2007 Employed with B Navi Ship Management, Chennai – branch of
B Navi Ship Management and Ship Owners as
DPA, CSO ( Company Safety Officer ) and ISM Internal Auditor .
Main job function - to ensure the vessels comply with ISM
requirements and liason with Class and P&I Clubs for
surveys. Actively associated with Ship Management and advising
the technical superintendents on repairs, crewing, dry docking,
PSC inspections, Flag State inspections and general
management of vessels. Budget planning and profit centre head.

21.02.2007 to 28.03.2007 Self was engaged as Marine Consultant by BMM, U.K at Djibouti.
To carry out the re-floating of a Cement Carrier at Djibouti and thereafter
carry out H&M Survey and Cargo out- turn survey for Oman Insurance
due to owners of the subject vessel had declared General Average and
completed the assignment successfully. Also carried out Loss Prevention
Survey for a power project cargo of heavy lifts on behalf of Allianz
Insurance, Germany.
26.11.2005 to 18.12.06 Employed in Inchcape Shipping Services, Djibouti Senior Surveyor
in their Marine Survey Department with Gross wages – USD 6500
per month which included fully furnished accommodation, annual
leave, car, Travel to and from India for full family twice a year.
Also handling agency services, chandling services and stevedoring
services.

2003 to 12.11.2005 General Manager, ( Project Co-Ordinator )/ Port Captain.
Was stationed at Tuticorin overseeing all operations with regard to import of Project Cargo for a major Nuclear Power Plant Site nearby. The job description includes but is not limited to supervising cargo loading at Russian Ports, Discharging the cargo at Tuticorin, road movement, barge movement for ODCS upto 400 mtons from disport to plant site including Roll On / Roll Off operations, Warehouse management activities at the Plant Site, Liason with Port officials and Insurance companies, Loss minimization, risk management, loss prevention, HRD/ HRM, various audits by internal and Statutory bodies, Management representative, formulating the HSE and QA manuals and procedures, HRD and various other project related activities.Have completed the SSO&PSO Course and have been actively involved in the formulation of the Security Policy for the minor port of Kudankulam, which happens to be a Captive Port for a Nuclear Power Project. Self was also the Management Representative for the entire Project activities. Was actively associated in various quotes during my tenure.

1975 – 1992 Joined the training ship “T.S. RAJENDRA” in 1975. After completing the training in 1976, joined as deck apprentice with The Shipping Corporation of India. Rose to the rank of Chief Officer in 1981, obtained the Master F.G. Certificate of Competency in 1984. Served with various companies as Master from 1986 to 1992 before taking up shore employment. During the tenure from S/o to C/o have worked on cargo ships of various types and handled Heavy Lift Cargoes from Japan and Europe.
Achievements Loading and discharging of Heavy lift packages upto 500 metric tons. Loading done with on board ship’s cranes and discharging using ship’s cranes. Discharging of the heavy lifts on to barges and safe movement to project site under tow. There was an incident when a heavy lift of 420 metric tons had to be discharged from the vessel without cargo gear and through the stern ramp using improvised mechanical means and expertise from Europe. Roll on and Roll off at the project site from the barges was a regularity. Loading and discharging of ODC packages with height up to 17.5 meters and diameter upto 9.20 meters and load on load off at the project site. Many General Average cases and opinion on the same and approval of SCOPIC and GA expenses. Attended many drydocks for collision related repairs of vessels and actively associated with collision related repairs of cruise vessel of STAR CRUISES including permanent repairs of FRP passenger tender of 150 persons capacity.
