CareSkore Sep 2016 – Dec 2016
Data Scientist (Intern) Mountain View, CA
CareSkore is a Y-Combinator startup focused on measuring and managing clinical risk on an ongoing basis in healthcare.
• Substantially reduced data processing times by automating data cleaning and merging.
• Greatly improved feature engineering pipeline performance by improving codebase.
• Drove actionable insights for machine learning models by performing and documenting exploratory data analysis.
• Created machine learning models to quantify risk for hospital patients. METIS Jan 2016 – Apr 2016
Data Science Fellow San Francisco, CA
Developed five real-world end-to-end data projects as a Fellow in a competitive data science immersive program:
• Analyzed MTA turnstile data using Pandas to determine peak traffic.
• Predicted gross revenues of movies using linear regression (statsmodels, sklearn).
• Classification of high-risk persons for heart disease using an ensemble of classification algorithms (sklearn).
• Classification of injury-related NBA injury tweets using natural language processing and Multinomial Naïve Bayes (sklearn).
• Clustered and visualized NBA player positions using k-means and D3.js. Poker Pro, Coach, and Co-founder Jun 2006 – Dec 2015 Poker is a mathematically solvable game which involves incomplete information and elements of statistical randomness, probability, and game theory. I was a top five online poker player and co-founder and producer of an online educational company which sold to poker legend Phil Ivey.
• Sparked and initiated discovery of the largest AI bot–ring (fraud) in online poker history.
• Achieved 10,000%+ ROI from a $300 initial deposit using risk management.
• Founded and sold LeggoPoker (now IveyLeague) – grew engaged player community and built world-class strategy videos.
• Developed deep and accurate understanding of hundreds of poker variables by researching and validating various hypothesis and striving for extremely detailed and logic-based evidence. Utilized PostgreSQL and poker calculators.
• Created game theoretic mathematical models to increase revenue based on derived insights. Created metrics and evaluations to verify them.
