Develops acquisition subject matter expertise and skills through various educational and developmental assignments. Collaborates with assigned Contracting Officer to assist in the pre-award, award, and post-award of contracts delegated within the division to deliver effective outcome based acquisitions.
● Collaborates with Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) on new BPS procurements. Currently working through an existing Multiple Award, Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Contract to procure needed equipment. Assists the COR with preparing pre-award documents, such as source selection plans, request for proposals, and statements of work. Communicates with the program office to gain an understanding of the requirements. Recently advised a program office on a procurement to avoid purchasing unnecessary equipment which resulted in their ability to procure 20% more units of needed equipment at no additional costs.
● Works closely with customers to monitor the performance of contracts and ensures orders are delivered to the appropriate airports, maintenance is performed on equipment, and funds are available to perform actions specified in the contract. Communicates with COR on a regular basis to manage equipment repairs requests that are submitted by vendors. Relies on the COR to verify that repair requests are bona fide and confirmation from the airport Point of Contact (POC) is received. Prepares modification documents (SF 30, Justification & Approval, Business Clearance Memo) to authorize repairs once COR concurrence is received. Awarded four (4) modifications to an active DO to perform maintenance on defective equipment to furnish the frontline workforce with properly functioning resources to effectively do their job.
● Engages with the TSA’s Innovation Task Force (ITF) to collaborate with industry on new and emerging checkpoint and checked baggage security technology. Attends weekly meetings with the innovation team to discuss contract and agreement actions. Collaborates with contracting officer by preparing pre-bailment award documents for review (Bona Fide Needs Memo, Bailment Agreement, Legal Review, and Business Clearance Memo), and constantly communicating with ITF team to meet procurement milestones (semi-weekly email updates, phone calls, and meetings). Successfully awarded ten (10) bailment agreements in result of effective collaboration with the ITF team. These bailments allowed TSA to assess new security technology at TSA’s testing facility. The assessments from the testing facility will help TSA create requirements needed for future procurements.
● Creating a DHS Strategic Sourcing Vehicle for Explosive Trace Detection (ETD) systems to streamline the acquisitions process department wide. Participates in bi-weekly meetings to brainstorm ETD requirements, pre-solicitation documents, and procurement milestones with technical personnel. Works in tandem with DHS to create an effective contracting vehicle by collaborating together to create unified ETD requirements across all DHS components. Coordinates Technical Evaluation Team (TET) kick-off meeting to promote procurement integrity. Currently qualified vendors are being tested and evaluated for admission to the QPL.
● Tracks and monitors a TSA email mailbox for Open Broad Agency Announcement (BAA). Reviews concept papers submitted by vendors to open solicitations posted on the Federal Business Opportunity website. Serves as the POC throughout the lifecycle of their submission. Coordinates with program offices to upload the concept papers to allow program offices to review all submissions. Sends draft letters once feedback is provided in order to request full proposals or to allow vendors to decline (or suggest amendments to) submitted concept papers.
● Volunteers for collateral duties within the office to assist with employee morale and giving back to the community. Recently, represented the Office of Acquisitions during the annual Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) as a Keyworker during the 4t h quarter of 2016.

Prepared materials for each job and controlled costs throughout project life cycle. Responded to customer inquiries for solicited work, and helped gather information to prepare customer proposals. Motivated and assisted a team of five (5) laborers to complete highly visible projects for hospitals, businesses, and homeowners in the D.C. metropolitan area.
● Served as the contractor POC for Amazon Web Services as an ongoing client. Regularly contacted by this client on modifications to their office suite to maintain superior condition of facilities. Scheduled site walk through with the building manager to create a proposal for the work desired. Coordinated with subcontractors to create a timeline for completion of the job. Controlled costs on these projects by reusing materials from previous jobs, saving
$600 on average.
● Hand-picked to manage a project that was not completed on schedule by another contractor. Collaborated with the security staff on site to assist the subcontractors with gaining access to the secure areas, as well as coordinating material pick-up and drop-off from the receiving bay. Mitigated a plumbing setback that held up the progress of previous subcontractors. Developed a schedule with the client, subcontractors, and my team to complete the project on a new timeline. Kept communications open with the client to inform them of project milestones, setbacks, and deliverables. The client was understanding of the delayed project, and excited to recommend us to other businesses based on my credibility and our deliverables.
● Worked closely with the engineering staff at a local hospital to complete the renovation of the Labor and Delivery Nurses Station and the hospital's main entrance. Studied and applied the Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) guidelines for construction work inside of the Hospital. Supervised all work to ensure that the ICRA guidelines were carried out and the schedule of deliverables were met. Responsible for conducting job site walk-throughs and providing updates daily to supervisors. Delegated tasks to team members, such as retrieving more material, jobsite clean-up, and trash haul away. The project was completed on time and without any disturbances to hospital operations.
● Assisted supervisor on multiple projects to support the company’s mission. Focused on assisting wherever needed to ensure the company’s mission was achieved. This often meant filling in with odds and ends tasks such as job site cleanup and hauling trash to the warehouse in order to complete a job.
