Oversaw everyday operations, installation and maintenance of 2 Ericsson 501 switches. Worked with engineering and provisioning on installation of new equipment and circuits. Training of junior techs. Installation of Varilink AS4000 3 to 1 DACS, provision T-1 and T-3s in the Varilink. Installed and set up timing source for the switch and channel banks (Semetricom CDMA clocking source). Level 2 Switch Technician

Maintained and operated 2 Ericsson AXE 10 switches and STP. Wiring of cross connects in the transport. Head to head testing with field techs DS1 through OC12. Testing of new T-1’s and trunks, bring trunks into service. Troubleshooting of alarms in switch, Tellabs Dacs, Fujitsu 2400 SONET, Ditech echo can, Telco and Alcatel 3X50 muxes. Tested and turned up DS-3’s. Work on trouble tickets for DS0 to DS3 problems. Work directly with system provisioning and translations for the installation of new network and private line circuits. Tested fiber OC3 through OC48. Updated orders in Tecoms CLR database. Use of Scopus and Tracks trouble ticketing system.

For the Process Engineering department. Job included setting up new PCs, Novel, NWclient, MSMail and other applications. Polish leaser rods from rough state to finished product for coating. Use of optical flats, micrometers, lease interferometer, microscope, and veneers to achieve specifications of 1/10 wave flat, 1 micron (scratch, dig, pit), correct length, diameter and proper angle of bezel. Use of wet saw to cut ends of crucible to 90 degrees +/- 2 degrees and polish for inspection by Q.C. to be sent to core drilling. Use of lathe to rough cut laps. Martine lathe and sharpen cutter blades.
