Consultant for testing of EDS billing system. Designed and implemented 3 T-1s for placing test calls from Zone’s DMS to KPN’s AXE 501 for Q. A. of the EDS billing platform. Monitored SS7 messages to determine correct order of signaling.

Senior Switch Technician

Oversaw everyday operations, installation and maintenance of 2 Ericsson 501 switches. Worked with engineering and provisioning on installation of new equipment and circuits. Training of junior techs. Installation of Varilink AS4000 3 to 1 DACS, provision T-1 and T-3s in the Varilink. Installed and set up timing source for the switch and channel banks (Semetricom CDMA clocking source). Installed and turned up Semetricom Secure 7 channel banks for SS7 links. Performed translations for SS7 T1s, SS7 signaling links, and C7 E1s. Provisioned circuits in Tellabs Verity 3000 Echo Controller, Alcatel 1641 Dacs. Turned up and tested T1, E1, and DS3 circuits. Maintained customer circuit database.

Level 3 Switch Technician

Worked on the installation, testing and turn up of Ericsson

AXE 501 Transgate switch. Installed and set up DHCP server, NT 4.0 workstations, Cisco 3600 router, 3Com Superstack hub, cat 5 runs. Installation and provisioning of Alcatel 3X50, NEC, CAC Muxs, Ditech echo can. Set up standard operational procedures for billing backups, data backup of switch, lifeline test, and turn up and testing procedures for T1, E1, DS3 and SS7 signaling links. Everyday operations, installation and maintenance of the switch and transport. Installed and set up Semetricom timing source for switch, installation of Telco Systems channel banks for SS7 links. Tested fiber, on OC3, OC12, and OC48 level. Installed Lucent DDM 2000 for OC3/DS3. Troubleshoot and monitored SS7 links, and data messages with an Inet Geoprobe/spy station.

MCI WorldCom: 5/97- 11/99, Jersey City, NJ

Level 2 Switch Technician

Maintained and operated 2 Ericsson AXE 10 switches and STP. Wiring of cross connects in the transport. Head to head testing with field techs DS1 through OC12. Testing of new T-1’s and trunks, bring trunks into service. Troubleshooting of alarms in switch, Tellabs Dacs, Fujitsu 2400 SONET, Ditech echo can, Telco and Alcatel 3X50 muxes. Tested and turned up DS-3’s. Work on trouble tickets for DS0 to DS3 problems. Work directly with system provisioning and translations for the installation of new network and private line circuits. Tested fiber OC3 through OC48. Updated orders in Tecoms CLR database. Use of Scopus and Tracks trouble ticketing system.

Allied-Signal: 8/96-5/97, Morristown, NJ

Hardware and software support technician

For the Process Engineering department. Job included setting up new PCs, Novel, NWclient, MSMail and other applications. Installations of network interface cards, printers, scanners, plotters, CD-ROM’s, modems, hard-drives and other peripherals. Worked in test bed and roll out for Windows 95 and NT 4.0 workstations.

Bench Test Technician

Evaluate and repair hand held environmental test equipment.

Also calibrate and certify to NITS standards, technical support, and sales (vendors & end users). Maintain data base for RMA, and repairs.

Leaser rod polishing technician

Work on all phases of rod polishing, prep laps, and blocks.

Polish leaser rods from rough state to finished product for coating. Use of optical flats, micrometers, lease interferometer, microscope, and veneers to achieve specifications of 1/10 wave flat, 1 micron (scratch, dig, pit), correct length, diameter and proper angle of bezel. Use of wet saw to cut ends of crucible to 90 degrees +/- 2 degrees and polish for inspection by Q.C. to be sent to core drilling. Use of lathe to rough cut laps. Martine lathe and sharpen cutter blades.
