This 20-year-old company is an Indirect Air Carrier (IAC) offering transportation via Air, Land, and Ocean providing logistical solutions worldwide. Company reports 200 employees and $50MM in annual revenues. Direct the efforts of three matrix reports guiding them through auto installation and upgrade of DB2 which will be leverage by other technology projects. Dedicated to three year strategy for one of two applications and Detail Analysis of FedRamp Qualifications.

2/89 - SPRINT CORPORATION Irving, Texas

2/16 Senior Technical Architect IV, Mainframe (1/09 - 2/16)

Designed infrastructure, managed vendors, and developed plans for multiple infrastructure migrations from Dallas Data Center to Lee Summit Data Center. Created a comprehensive roadmap on how to facilitate migration from existing to new platform. Over 1000+ applications were analyzed in addition to database platforms which were supported by a suite of over 600 software products. Project included configurations, data retention and migration, software analysis, cost model, and staff requirements. Designed and managed matrix team to resolve Mainframe and Teradata technology where approaching end of life. Teredata had 30% capacity growth requirement and the function team analyzed the feasibility of relocating both environments and proposed an efficient to satisfy the growth. Created an IT network budget and created a process and established an IT Core network budget. Sheparded the strategy to retire the mainframe architecture. Established process for metrics cost per port and acted as coordinator for mainframe resolution of exposures. The environment was over $20,000 MIPs (cpu) and 100+ TB of data across six data centers.

Manager, Capacity, Performance, Software and Connectivity Engineering (7/94 - 1/09)

Directed the efforts of five subordinate staff and 34 downline reports in the daily optimization of current and future uses of batch and online database hardware and software technologies focused on delivery of the best price for performance throughput and availability. Improved acquisition proceeded in CPU implementation CICS/ADABAS/DB2/IMS War room forum memory management, coupler, and online CPU metrics. Created a one stop performance center, alarm manager, data placement, Goal Mode/WLM, and approved service level agreements. Facilitated Foot Print Reduction by both monitoring and implementing performance improvements. Removed 60% of the footprints in support of software negotiations via shifting workload from one footprint to another. The financial benefit of implementation of the concept of a “Penalty Box”, which was spearheaded by me, was reduction in 60% reduction in software costs. Managed peers across multiple platforms to implement cost improvement methodologies and service level improvements. Result was as savings of $18MM in the first year. Saved millions of dollars in CPU hardware costs through processing improvements during tenure. Elevated CPU usage from 54% to 88.1%, establishing industry best practice and eliminated all CPU upgrades.
