Project: Sephora – Beauty Insider
Sephora is a retail chain of beauty products like makeup, skin care, perfumes and hair care in nearly 300 different brands. Sephora has stores inside JCPenney in over 574 locations which is more commonly known as Sephora Inside Jcpenney.
The project is an internal application for Finance and Associate Team which manages the markdown calculations. Various users in the application can check the devaluation of the product and help fuel the business for more profit margins. A pre-season planning and in-season adjustments of Inventories are possible with the use of the application. The pre-planning of markdown is to control the inventory, maintain strong sales and help keep stock at balanced level. The pages have calculations for markdown using the cost, gross margin, sales units and markdown percentage, which in turn calculates the revenue and decides if there is any over-buying. The main intention is to have a temporary markdown to stimulate sales throughout the store.
Responsibilities:
Understand the Software requirement and design Scenarios

Stock Keeping Unit Plan is walk through of the absolute attributes of the Inventory System. There are activities employed in maintaining the ideal number or quantity of each inventory item. The idea is to provide incessant production, sales and avoid business failure.
It is maintained by tabulating the SKUs or item numbers, Item names, Item Description, Item notes and units of measure. Item numbers are in custom for searching the inventory, making transactions, filling orders, filtering or searching reports. An item’s status is also described as damaged, work in progress or In-transit. Various users have different view of the information and the application is customized accordingly like Vendors, employees and third parties. An accurate historical record is maintained by search, filter Capabilities and export reports in excel. In the end, it controls ordering, storage and use of components of sales for the company.
