INTERNSHIPS

AND

PROJECTS

Summer Internship, Jaypee Himachal Cement Plant Baga, India June 2014 - July 2014

¬ Responsible for keeping track of parameters like kiln feed, kiln speed and fan speed.

¬ Monitored parameters like kiln temperature, kiln pressure, kiln torque, cooler pressure and cooler temperature.

¬ Applied heat and mass balance concepts to determine the efficiency of cooler.

¬ Studied and analyzed the ways to improve the efficiency of cooler unit.

¬ Studied various plant equipment like Vertical Roller Mill, Cyclone Separator, burner, etc.

¬ Understood the detailed process of manufacturing cement. Undergraduate Project

Urea Plant Design, August 2014-June 2015

¬ Did process selection based on merits and demerits of various processes available.

¬ For a selected plant capacity of 1500 TPD, performed detailed and rigorous material and energy balance that served as the starting point for the design of the process equipment (such as reactor, evaporator) required in the manufacturing process.

¬ Did Cost estimation calculations.

Graduate Projects

Design of water and wastewater treatment processes, August 2016 – December 2016

¬ Employed suitable and relevant design equations to design rapid mix basin, flocculation basin, sedimentation basin and disinfection contact basin that form an integral part of any water and wastewater treatment plant.

¬ Performed cost analysis after designing the treatment processes. Innovation Playbook, January 2017 – April 2017

¬ Proposed an innovative automated product that integrates bio waste digester, methane generator and cyanobacteria farm to process a wide variety of household biodegradable waste and solves the engineering grand challenge of managing and balancing the nitrogen cycle.

¬ Performed market analysis and outlined the commercialization strategy for converting the nitrogen fixing cyanobacteria into value added organic fertilizer or biofuel.

Engineering Entrepreneurship, January 2017 – April 2017

¬ Proposed an ‘Internet of Things’ enabled rideshare app and network that provides convenience to college students, staff and faculty by incorporating student drivers, bus options to suggest and find the best rides for them.

¬ Provided several options to riders to select from so that they pay less in comparison to what they pay while using the existing apps such as Uber and Lyft.

¬ Conducted dozens of social media polls to analyze market and validate the problem of inconvenience to get to class. WORK
