PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Network Engineer July 2013 – June 2016
Demonware Inc. (Activision Blizzard), Vancouver, British Columbia
Network Security: I worked extensively on configuration, testing, maintenance of security features like Security Policies, Firewall Filters, NAT rules and IPS/IDS on firewalls like Juniper SRX, Checkpoints, Cisco ASAs both in a single site and between sites using VPNs as per the requirements. I implemented High Availablity(HA) and did troubleshooting on on SRX Clusters by checking logs and upgrading Firmware OS, emergency rollbacks etc. I coordinated with others to deploy AAA in multiple data centers which included installing and configuring RADIUS, TACACS+, and RANCID servers and configuring networking devices with AAA. I worked on AWS Cloud network to provide secure connectivity via IPSec tunnels.
Routing and Switching: Designing, implementing and troubleshooting IP Routing using different routing protocols like RIP, OSPF, BGP sometimes using VPNs and VRFs and Policy Based Routing using Route Maps on Cisco Routers and Switches, Juniper SRXs, Citrix NetScalers across multiple Data Centers. Involvement in L2 and L3 Switching technologies that included creating and managing VLANs, SVIs, Port security, Trunking, STP, LAN security, Port Channels, Inter-VLAN routing with HSRP, VRRP etc.
Network Monitoring: Troubleshooting and optimization of network using monitoring tools like Nagios, Graphite, Splunk, Swirly, Wireshark, ThousandEyes, and Observium. As an assigned task deployed Central Logging and Network Monitoring systems like ThousandEyes and Observium and configured hundreds of switches, firewalls, Routers, Load Balancers with necessary and optimal configurations in three different data centers and corporate offices globally.
Data Centre Buildouts: Upgrading software and hardware on Cisco routers and switches, Juniper Firewalls, Netscalers and IBM servers in redundant and non-redundant live environments on site and using RH. Installation and troubleshooting of Single and Multi-mode fiber cables, SFP/QFSP, Cat 6 used in equipment interconnections, Power Supplies and power cables. I worked on the Data Center expansion builds with the local buildout teams which included racking and stacking, labeling, cabling, basic configuration and documentation for the new hardware. I Collaborated with internal teams to identify network infrastructure requirements, design and implement network architectural solutions.
Load balancing: As per the requirements I configured both Private and Public VIPs, vservers, and vservices with appropriate Protocols, Ports and LoadBalancing Methods. I also configured ACLs, Subnetting, Routing, IP Filtering and installed SSL certificates and other settings on Citrix Netscalers and other ADCs like F5, A10 and Cloud based ADCs in AWS.
Network Maintenance and Consulting: Worked on advanced inventory management technology used by Demonware and regularly solved the Networking tickets in Jira and Zendesk ticket management systems. Created and maintained internal Wiki Network Documents and Network Diagrams using Microsoft Visio. Consistently handled TAC and RMA cases with Juniper, Citrix and Cisco Systems.
Network Administrator January 2011 – September 2011
NetMax Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Chandigarh, India
Setup and maintained server OS and applicable applications for +100 VM applications servers using VMware vSphere (ESXi) with a focus on availability.
Engaged in intensive MCITP on-site training, completing training duties alongside team-oriented hands-on work with ongoing projects.
Maintained network performance by performing network monitoring, performance tuning, troubleshooting the network problems and escalating problems to vendors.
