Capstone Paper:

The objective for our Capstone project was to raise awareness of two associated diseases, chronic pancreatitis and Type 3c Diabetes mellitus, which are increasing in prevalence in the United States and Europe. However, these illnesses are still relatively rare and often misdiagnosed leading to improper treatment. We chose to focus our paper on the importance of correctly diagnosing these illnesses in order to receive appropriate medical management to facilitate an overall better quality of life.

We provided tutoring services for any of the students that were having difficulty in a particular subject. On site phlebotomist at Brookline or Waltham location. Performed venipuncture for CBC, electrolytes, genetic screenings and a variety of other tests conferring to nurse’s orders. Research was designed to detect the antibody response in northern leopard frogs by ELISA using reagents developed in Xenopus species. Performing these tests would help us better understand the adaptive immune response of frogs and may give us a clue to their decline in population. I was in charge of the maintenance of these two species as well as catching local species in nearby woods and swamps to test as well. (40 hrs. per week)
