Newspaper Design

Purdue University Calumet's Chronicle - Hammond, IN - April 2015 to Present Responsibilities

I helped layout the newspaper and add stories where they needed to be. I designed a completely new banner, which is now used today. The photos that are used in the paper had to be edited as well. This was another one of my various tasks I needed to complete. I would also create some graphics for the paper as well using Adobe CS.

Accomplishments

I feel that I've had a big impact here so far. I really enjoy this job by helping design the paper. My biggest impact here is the paper looks cleaner and well designed. Skills Used

Grimmer's Service Center - Schererville, IN - May 2009 to Present Responsibilities

I help out with tire rotations and oil changes. If there was nothing going on in the shop, I would clean up and make sure the shop looked nice.

Accomplishments

I would bring smiles to the customer's faces. It would feel nice to be able to greet the customers and make them feel happy. I accomplished improving my communication skills here. Skills Used

Jacob Yothment, Elizabeth Biancardi, Rilee Witt and Matthew Staton won 2nd Place for the best feature page. We covered a story for the Bash on the Blacktop. This is the spring concert that happens every year at Purdue University Calumet. We won this awards for best design in this issue.
