While working for Corporacion Reflex (see below), the owner of Inversiones LK1 wanted me to correct several problems in a recently completed 8-acre industrial park in which construction I was involved(see below, my employment with GRUPO PMA, C.A.) In addition, the company began the construction on a 5-floor office building, a 600,000 square-foot shopping mall and has planned to develop a 20-acre industrial/office/hotel/mall complex, I was asked to join the management team as consultant. The work became permanent and then I worked exclusively for this company. I reported directly to the owner of the conglomerate. The estimated cost of construction for the mall is $60,000,000, 3.000.000 for the office building and 72.000.000 for the future industrial/office/hotel/mall.

2010–2013 Corporación Reflex, C.A. Maracay, Venezuela Corporacion Reflex C.A. is a consulting and contracting company involved in engineering and construction. Among other things, it most recently designed a power plant for the Department of Energy and is currently divided into two subsections, electrical projects and civil construction, both of which I was spearheading during my employment period.

Job description: in charge of the construction branch of Corporacion Reflex C.A. from bidding to project completion, managing and coordinating subcontractors and professional staffers in the different areas involved in the ongoing project, overseeing technical inspections, work schedules, logistics, procurements, preparation of necessary documents needed for project mobilization, as well as interacting with our client’s technical staff, sub-contractors and labor unions. -Worked as a contractor for a client converting a 32-acre industrial park into a commercial shopping mall with built-in hotel. The current work environment has become really difficult: material and supplies were scarce; logistics is a necessity to streamline the construction process. Value of the whole conversion project: $17,000,000.

-Engineering project manager in the design of a 40-megawatt electrical power plant (2010), leader of multidisciplinary team

(civil, electrical and mechanical) to complete the project from start to finish; interaction and coordination with client, US generator’s supplier (Pratt & Whitney) and the national electrical utility. Estimated cost of the power plant:

$46,000,000.

As product manager my objective was to sell and coordinate the placing of the product in the national and export market. In the national market, the job was also promote and sell turnkey projects (IPC), coordinating with clients, steel manufacturers, internal production, field contractors and suppliers of all accessories and machinery not manufactured by the company.
