• As chair of a national trade association, led a 5 year collaborative effort to develop and implement organization’s first strategic plan. • Negotiated joint venture between Cantor Fitzgerald and PJM Interconnection LLC, a regional (electrical) transmission operator, to combine the physical markets of PJM with the financial markets of Cantor to increase financial and physical efficiencies, reduce risk to buyers and sellers, and reduce costs to consumers.

• Corporate compliance officer for activities covered by laws relating to foreign corrupt practices, environmental, securities, governmental contracting, and state and federal election, lobbying and political action. Investigated potential violations. Drafted, advised and enforced and corporate ethics and guidelines. No penalties imposed during my tenure.

• Managed all legislative and regulatory activities for the non-franchised companies. Analyzed draft legislation regulations for impact on the Company, and briefed executive management in writing and orally. Represented the Company before federal and state regulatory bodies and Congress, through testimony and educational programs. Coordinated activities with diverse constituencies in support of mutual legislative and regulatory goals.

• Drafted legislation enacted as part of the Energy Policy Act of 1992. Elected president of national and state trade associations for independent power producers, Co-Chair of American Bar Association Section on and managed its legislative program. Explained impact of proposed changes to Members of Congress, the media and other interested parties.

• Created and presented community educational and engagement programs for localities where the company intended to build powerplants. After a site was acquired, held numerous forums to educate community leaders and the broader community on what was involved in hosting the powerplant, on air, water and other pollution controls, and to listen to their concerns. Successful in all sites I managed, with one exception (located near a national forest).
