Practice clinical chiropractic medicine, overseeing treatment plans for 500 simultaneous patients using rehabilitative treatment to include chiropractic manipulation, physical therapy, nutritional therapy, acupuncture, and other therapeutic modalities. Discrepancy Review: Analyzed discrepancies that arose related to individual practical examination performance between doctors who score the exam. Exercised sound and careful judgment to resolve discrepant material, thus protecting the state’s credibility. Part of three-physician team to evaluate tapes of examination procedure in question. Discussed errant procedures and proper protocol; made decisions based upon scientific facts or norms. Doctors who fail the exam are entitled to review of the corrected exam the purpose the review committee convenes. Further actions can include a hearing before an Administrative Judge, meaning all review decisions must be accurate in analysis and conclusion and able to stand up to judicial review and expert testimony. Perform research to substantiate decisions; follow fair and accurate processes.
Examination Development: Perform substantial research to design new examination questions for the question pool for future exams. Used experience and analysis of disease processes to devise simulated scenarios to test applicants. Construct cases scenarios and paint clinical picture of signs, symptoms and patient presentation related to a particular disease or condition. Devised simulations and correct answers that covered physical examination procedures required for diagnosis (Diagnostic imaging, laboratory, special testing procedures, etc.) and concomitant treatment plans.
Board of Chiropractic Medicine Monitor: Appointed by the Board of Chiropractic Medicine to review medical records of doctors cited by an Administrative Judge for failure to maintain adequate patient records according to Florida Statute (460.413(m)). Monthly record reviews are performed to determine compliance with specific Florida Statutes and reported back to the Board of Chiropractic Medicine.
