Demonstrates professionalism in delivering quality patient care. Practice clinical chiropractic medicine, overseeing treatment plans for 500 simultaneous patients using rehabilitative treatment to include chiropractic manipulation, physical therapy, nutritional therapy, acupuncture, and other therapeutic modalities. Perform standard manipulation and soft tissue procedures, providing care appropriate to the age of patients served. Familiar with chiropractic care provided for patients utilizing prosthetic limbs. Able to provide Basic Life Support (BLS) response in clinical setting.

Develop plans of care and administer treatment to patients. Apply sound judgment and arrive at accurate conclusions and diagnoses. Provide effective patient care to include manual and mechanical chiropractic manipulation techniques to spine and extremities, support taping (kinesiotape) to spinal and extra-spinal structures for support and rehabilitation outcomes, electro-acupuncture, needle acupuncture, laser acupuncture, auricular therapy, dermal cupping technique and tapping needle techniques. Provide physical therapy including hot packs, ice, electrical muscle stimulation, ultrasound, and traction. Convene as necessary with specialty physicians, contracted providers and community healthcare providers to develop a collaborative partnership for patient care. Work independently and on contract to larger, health care centers operating in a staff model setting whereby routine medical and ancillary health care are provided in one location and orchestrated by a primary care physician. Perform complete and thorough patient systems examinations. Gather information on past and present health status, medical and surgical history. Determine extent of illness or injury and medical necessity of referral if clinically warranted. Systematically obtain patient information through various History and Physical examination procedures, laboratory and diagnostic testing procedures. Review and interpret data findings, radiology reports, as well as raw medical images. Order tests and interprets results of laboratory analysis, x-ray, Computed Tomography (CT) scan, Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI); needle EMG studies and neuro-vestibular tests. Inspected and examined physical factors of individual patients to determine abnormalities as part of IME process. Gathered medical history information and performed in-depth physical examination and complete systems evaluation. Performed neurological (central and peripheral nervous systems) evaluation and recorded results; measured orthopedic ranges of motion using inclinometry and goniometry, then comparing with standard normative values according to American Medical Association (AMA) guides for impairment rating. Applied knowledge of board certification rules and regulations to administer Florida State Board Examination to doctors seeking licensure in Florida. Selected for exemplary practice record; must be free of disciplinary actions.

Discrepancy Review: Analyzed discrepancies that arose related to individual practical examination performance between doctors who score the exam. Exercised sound and careful judgment to resolve discrepant material, thus protecting the state’s credibility. Part of three-physician team to evaluate tapes of examination procedure in question. Discussed errant procedures and proper protocol; made decisions based upon scientific facts or norms. Doctors who fail the exam are entitled to review of the corrected exam the purpose the review committee convenes. Further actions can include a hearing before an Administrative Judge, meaning all review decisions must be accurate in analysis and conclusion and able to stand up to judicial review and expert testimony. Perform research to substantiate decisions; follow fair and accurate processes.

Examination Development: Perform substantial research to design new examination questions for the question pool for future exams. Used experience and analysis of disease processes to devise simulated scenarios to test applicants. Construct cases scenarios and paint clinical picture of signs, symptoms and patient presentation related to a particular disease or condition. Devised simulations and correct answers that covered physical examination procedures required for diagnosis (Diagnostic imaging, laboratory, special testing procedures, etc.) and concomitant treatment plans.

Board of Chiropractic Medicine Monitor: Appointed by the Board of Chiropractic Medicine to review medical records of doctors cited by an Administrative Judge for failure to maintain adequate patient records according to Florida Statute (460.413(m)). Monthly record reviews are performed to determine compliance with specific Florida Statutes and reported back to the Board of Chiropractic Medicine.
