I am contacting you to express my interest in a position as an orthopedic/pain management physician assistant. I am a recent graduate University of Texas Medical Branch with my Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies, and I am a certified Physician Assistant through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).

Accompanying this letter is my resume, which highlights my clinical experience and qualifications. During my youth, I played numerous sports, ranging from Basketball to Volleyball to Golf and Cross Country. In the process, I endured multiple sports injuries and often found myself helping teammates recuperate from their injuries. With this, I was frequently exposed to sports medicine and orthopedics, and was constantly amazed by their knowledge and skill. This inspired me to pursue a career in orthopedics and pain medicine so that I could provide the same dedicated and personalized care to my patients. My natural interest and ability to connect with patients and develop effective treatment plans has become evident during my clinical rotations. My inherent interpersonal skills, close attention to detail, and desire to continuously improve my skill set will enhance my ability to provide optimal patient care in an orthopedic setting.

During my various clinical rotations, I took every opportunity to seek out and learn from orthopedic-specific cases. I became proficient in procedures that will transfer to orthopedics and sports medicine, such as joint and bursa injections, radiographic examination, joint specific tests, and suturing. During the past few months I have utilized my free time by joining orthopedic physician assistant communities, and have continued to gain additional knowledge through online orthopedic journal readings.

My valuable PA training combined with my strong work ethic, quick ability to learn, and compassionate and personable nature would make me an excellent addition to your orthopedic practice.
