COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT – VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE
Volunteer, St. Felix Centre, Toronto, Ontario July 2017 – present
St. Felix Centre is a non-profit community center in downtown Toronto that was founded by the Felician Sisters. This facility dedicated to providing compassionate service and a safe, welcoming and respectful environment inclusive of all religions, genders, cultures, and abilities, including the homeless and seniors.
As a volunteer I will be participating in supporting functions and will become involved in almost all aspects of the Centre, for example, serving food, actively listening and responding to client group sessions, working with seniors, helping with the clothing bank. My goal is to develop more interactive counselling skills either one-on-one or in small groups.
