Uncompromising on ethics and attitude for doing “whatever it takes to get the job done”.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
HONEYWELL (Aerospace & Defense), Phoenix, AZ 2015 - 2016
Senior Electrical Engineer
Under contract to support floor efficiency and business metrics. Had one defined goal to keep “All aircraft mission ready”. Supported ATE’s, CCA’s, regarding military aircraft cockpit avionics.
Completed daily documentation of ongoing site projects and status.
Assisted in an increase of OTTR from the mid 80’s to the mid 90’s within 1 year.
Managed, and completed 25 engineering projects supporting ongoing operations.
Reviewed 100+ internal site work instructions (SOS’s) and approved them.
Supported next level Honeywell certification for site. (Silver)
Supported day-to-day operations in Tier level site, Gemba, Kiazan, production and Engineering meetings on a daily basis.
Worked with government officers (DCMA’s) assisting in CAR’s and escapes.
Created a variety of CAD drawings for engineering projects and production floor lay outs.
FIELD TESTED SYSTEMS, Seattle, WA 2015
Consulting Engineer
Assisted engineers designing spectrophotometers and material analysis (evaporation) systems for students and educators considering both cost, quality, and safety.
Completed prototypes for both systems. Gathered test data, BOM, research papers, and conducted empirical testing.
Approval for beta testing designs from Sr. engineering.
FIRST SOLAR, Mesa, AZ 2011 – 2013
Manufacturing Engineer II
Manufacturing Engineer of the Sub-Module processes of CdTe (Cadmium Tellurite) PV solar panels.
Processes included spray on deposits, high temperature oven (profiling), NPR, acid etch, doping, sputter deposition (metal thin films), statistics, flow layouts, and documentation.
Work with engineers, management, and First Solar plants globally to improve efficiency and stability of PV solar panels.
Conducted six internal vendor manufacturing audits to improve, manufacturing, quality, familiarity, and communications.
Designed manufacturing work stations and assembly lines.
L-3 COMMUNICATIONS (NORTHRUP-GRUMMAN), Tempe, AZ 2002 – 2011
Manufacturing Engineer II
Project Engineer of a system designed to test the reliability of image intensifiers. In charge of a mechanical, optical, and software engineer that included prototyping, designing, and final testing of the systems that required three major project metrics.
Improved light distribution and uniformity at 2856 Kelvin from 6-40% to less than 2% at five foot candles, <5% for both 5X10-4 & 5x10-5 foot candles. We achieved this goal with the new light source that we co-designed with Lapsphere and achieved out theoretical limits.
Increased product capacity >25% and the number from 108 to 150 tube positions and achieved this goal at 28%. Completely re-designed a new bulkhead door with added adjustability for light level uniformity as a feature.
Brought all four systems up to the same configuration with <1 percent system to system variation. Due to having only two systems on line, system to system variation on the two was less than 0.5%.
Design Engineer of an SE-1000 electron gun evaporator system. Other than the frame and vacuum bell, we built a production ready system completely from scratch that duplicated four other legacy systems and increased component capacity in a bottle neck of a critical component. This design system included:
The main high vacuum/cryogenic system including domes, planet rotation, shielding, process feed through, and low vacuum roughing pump.
The control system including a PLC, software, touch screen, monitoring and relay switching.
The high and low voltage electrical system including the main power supply, relays, I/O’s, valves, and process control equipment.
Provided facility hook up points including PCW valves, Nitrogen, insulated electrical wiring to cut offs, booster pump fittings, and interlocks.
All documentation including manuals, schematics, procedures, and initial process qualification data.
SPEEDFAM-IPEC CORPORATION, Chandler, AZ 2000 – 2002
Associate Process Engineer I
Responsible for front-end fabrication of poly-vinyl alcohol (PVA) products that have a uniform porous structure and are used for cleaning wafers on a variety of industry wafer cleaners. Transferred from R&D group that developed the Momentum 200mm CMP processes, reliability, and system performances.
Created the most stable fabrication process with controlled daily repeatability which in turn produced a 12 percent decrease in defect yields.
Continuously worked among development, manufacturing, and quality teams by developing and improving processes, techniques and equipment. This also included planning and controlling the flow of work to meet demanding production schedules of our PVA line.
Projects included; identifying parameters for, then supporting design of experiments; implementing new multi-zone carrier processes.
UNITED STATES ARMY/RESERVE 1990 – 1998
Military Service Infantry (11B)
Served in counter-drug special operations, assisted in processing of new soldiers into military unit and utilized a large variety of light weapon platforms.
Cited three times for excellent leadership skills.
Served during Operation Desert Storm.
