Quantum Engineering was a company I started in the late 1980’s. I designed machine tools and redesigned parts for Industry. I designed the QE 150 boring bar, used in the process of field machining large industrial parts. I sold this Patent to The American Machine Tools Corporation of Chicago at which time I moved to South East Asia in 2004.

Harry Khun, Paul Clausner and I, purchased the machines, designed, and ran a fully functional machine shop for the company. We fabricated, built, designed, and manufactured parts for all of the 1,000 pieces of heavy equipment and trucks owned by the company, often redesigning original parts.

Profile Sanding was a company owned by Wolfgang Morkvenis, an Engineer from Germany. He and I built the company from a small two man operation to a semi automated CNC production facility. We produced computer controlled, conveyer driven machines. I left the company to open a machining facility for Harry Khun Co.

Romar Mold, Arlington Heights, IL June 1982- July 1990

Apprentice/Junior Mold Maker

We built close tolerance (.0002”) injection molds for the pharmaceutical industry. I served my apprenticeship by mastering Milling, grinding, EDM, and then also, the fitting, troubleshooting and designing of plastic injection molds. I left Romar in 1990 to pursue my own career in industrial design.
