My name is Nikki Ratliff and I have been a Certified Nursing Assistant since April 19, 2012. I recently obtained my national phlebotomy certification on May the 3rd of 2017 thru Carolina Allied Health. This is something I've been looking forward to as I love learning new things and meeting people while doing so. I am very attentive and I know how important it is to know my patients moods and habits. I am well a seasoned Nursing Assistant with experience in Alzheimer's patients and units as well as the normal activities of daily living. I have worked all three shifts and I fully understand the scheduling of a patients day varies with every individual as there can be confusion with Alzheimer's disease and dementia. I have experience with patient's family member's and being there for them in their time of need. Explaining within my scope of being a CNA I as much as possible to help them understand the situation at hand. I also have experience answering the phone at the nurses station and transferring calls and taking messages. Documentation is very important to me and making sure it is finished before I leave work. I am very flexible with work tasks and I am very good at organization and prioritizing my time and tasks to be finished. Being a Nursing Assistant has really showed me the ground work of being in the medical field as in learning medical terminology and teamwork as well as greeting patients and learning the techniques of every patient how different their needs can be and how to utilize my time. I have experience in catheter care, ostomy care, repositioning, oxygen, concentrators and transfers. I have worked in many different settings. I am well trained to be efficient with my time and the tasks at hand while keeping the safety of the patients and their opinions in mind as it is very important to keep them satisfied with the care given. Also, I love to work outdoors. I am a very handy person and I have experience from growing up on a farm. Authorized to work in the US for any employer
