Caxton Associates, Princeton, NJ 2009-Present – Senior Software Developer/Project Lead with Compliance and Front Office

Profitable Trade System – Worked with a PM to develop a system to analyze intra-day trades over a given time period to determine the profitability of his trading strategy. Developed calculations to determine Strategic, Tactical and Unchanged P&L for the strategy and time period. Developed Excel reports for the PM so he could analyze all data developed by the system.

Access Control - Project Lead, designed, developed, coded and tested new Caxton Firm wide access control security system using new web service technology, C#/.Net and HTML5 and SQL.

Gifts and Entertainment – Project Lead, designed & coded and tested C#/web based system to track all Gift and Entertainment requests for Caxton employees. Designed/created C#/web reports for upper management and Compliance to track employees and Gifts and Entertainment requests.

Compliance Reporting – Designed/coded multiple Country Net Short reports in C#/.Net and produced XML and Excel files to be uploaded to each individual regulatory board if errors exist. Maintained and applied thresholds and individual country laws to each report to ensure Caxton is compliant with each country regulations.

Project System – Project Lead and programmer to reengineer the Caxton Project System. Created a C#/web based system to track all Caxton IT projects and report the status of each project as it goes through all stages of the project lifecycle. Designed and wrote SQL queries to gather data from DB and populate system and reports.

Tax Document Management System - Created Web application for the tax department to index and archive their tax documents and retrieve them from the web. Users can index reports by selected fields. Users can run system-wide reports on all documents that were archived and sort by associated indexes using SQL based queries.

Third Party Software Implementations - Project Lead

oFund Apps – New Compliance reporting system. Gathered specifications designed and coded daily trade and position XML file in .Net, FTP’d file to their system and loaded file into their system using their API.

oPTCC - New Personal Trading Compliance system. Created Firm EOD and Intra-day trade files to be uploaded. Implemented Gifts and Entertainment system, creating all the rules for managing approvals and denials. Designed Training Demo for the entire company and trained company on using PTCC.

oMobius – Document Archival system. System administrator and maintained security for all employees’ access to Mobius reports. Coordinated 2 upgrades to the system, working with Mobius consultants to perform upgrades.

ECDR Report - Designed new Compliance system for SPO announcements in C#/.Net using data downloaded from Bloomberg on a daily basis. Created rules for keeping/deleting records from database and designed web report with drill-down capability.

Caxton security system – Administrator of the Caxton security system. Grant access and provide roles for reports and systems for entire company.

Caxton Associates, Princeton, NJ 1996 - 2009 – Senior System Analyst/Programmer with Operations and Data Loading

Murex - Lead Programmer to convert main trading system from OMR(COBOL) to Murex(Oracle DB/PLSQL). Coded SQL data transformation load procedures. Coded/tested PLSQL load and report procedures. Assisted in review and run of the dx data load for Murex on a daily basis. Researched and reviewed exceptions from the data load. Created and tested all shells to coordinate the OMR and Murex load. Ran the conversion day run and regression test runs for all phases.

Wash Sales System - Project Lead to convert the legacy wash sales system on the VMS Alpha to Oracle/Unix PLSQL. Met with Users and Business Analysts to gather specifications, analyzed legacy programs to get program logic and apply it to new programs. Designed and coded in PLSQL all programs and UNIX shells for the system. Verified data and logic of all programs as per user specifications. Worked with users after system run to ensure system ran correctly.

Cost of Traders System – Lead Programmer to develop new Cost of Traders system. Created and coded tables, SQL, PLSQL and shells for entire system. Developed security for the system. Set-up Java environment to program data entry screens. Completed java coding and testing of all data entry screen.

BMC Scheduler -Lead the project to implement the new scheduler. Coordinated with the DBA’s to setup the environment in production. Setup all jobs and dependencies in BMC to run daily. Modified all Production jobs to send out notification when an error occurs in the job. Deployed all BMC jobs into production from all IT users.

Convert Legacy COBOL systems to Oracle DB and SQL/PLSQL - Lead programmer to code PL/SQL programs from legacy COBOL systems and to convert Caxton’s main P&L Report (Pace) to new Oracle system. Loading of data onto the production UNIX machine. Responsible for testing, running and validating programs and data on the UNIX production machine.

Year-End Pace Report - Lead Analyst and Programmer to create a new system to data on a year-end basis and move it to a separate system. Created new oracle tables for the year-end data. Coded Java programs to generate the year-end pace report for the web, to archive in Mobius and to send the report to the external traders.

Risk data collection and reporting – Project Lead to develop and test Risk data collection programs in VB and maintained them on a daily basis. Trained other staff to run procedures and to report errors. Developed Bloomberg FTP VB program.
