WORK EXPERIENCE:

Current Hoover Precision Products

Senior Cost Accountant, it is not working out, I have a micro managing boss.

April 2009 to Meggitt Training System

November 2016 296 Brogdon Road, Suwanee, GA 30024

Senior Cost Analyst for a $100M Military and Law Enforcement Training company. Duties included inventory and manufacturing variance analysis, section 199 tax preparation and job cost buildup for proposals in the Military and Law Enforcement industries.

Meggitt bought Caswell Detroit Armor and moved the operations to Georgia. I was brought in to replace the Finance Manager that did not move. It was a difficult merger and the product line was losing money and had sales of $3M. Within on year I had Formulated Costed BOMs done and the product line was profitable.

With a good understanding of cost, they were able to aggressively price proposals which increased revenue over 4 times, and saw it's first YTD 30% GM in 2016. I was given project approval authority for projects below one million dollars.

Directed a team to reduce inventory variances. I created a tracking system for Vendor Returns and PO Receipt Accruals to insure these transactions were kept current. Cleaning these up reduced processing time for A/P and Receiving and in 2016 we saw the first ever half year variance of $4k unfavorable.

Worked regularly with engineering to estimate cost on new products using manually costed BOMs.

April 2007 Ferraz Shawmut, Div of Carbone Lorraine

to December 2008 374 Merrimac Street, Newburyport, MA 01950

Cost Accounting Manager with a $235M Fuse Manufacturer. Responsible for Mexico manufacturing operations using JDE ERP system.

Part of a four person senior team on the successful acquisition of a Puerto Rico manufacturing operation. Worked closely with engineering to bring 600 Finished Goods up on the JD Edwards costing system.

Set up tracking of major precious metals to immediately catch material shrinkage. I developed an Excel model using downloads and macros to quickly provide production management with clear picture of material usage variance vs production. It provides a clear picture of actual material usage without relying on production reporting.

Reduced Material Burden variance from $500k to less than $50k in one year. By taking hard copy freight reports and developing Excel models, a trend analysis was done based on high volume shipping lines. This expanded the Material Burden charge from a basic National / International level to a 5 level system charging Finished Goods based on zone.

Working with UPS, created a shipping to sales cross reference system to match 27,000 shipments per month to the sales orders. This was accomplished with help from the IT department.

Corrected over 150 BOMs working with Engineering, IE’s, and production management to trim production material variances by over $200k.

Generated Access program to show inventory changes over $5k by reporting period, from weeks to months to years.

October 2003 Hutchinson Sealing Systems, Inc., Div of Total S.A. Courbevoie France

to April 2007 171 Route 85 Newfields, NH 03856

Controller for 8 months, Internal Auditor for 8 months after management change, for a $150M Tier 1 Automotive Parts Manufacturer.

Cost Accountant, duties were month end closing, inventory variance analysis, and Bill of Material system maintenance using the JBA ERP system.

Worked on Six Sigma Black Belt teams for quality, labor and process improvements. Worked with Production Management to control inventory and labor costs through production reporting analysis, working with all levels of production management. Developed Excel model to deliver weekly labor variance reports to production management based on Actual vs Reported production hours.

Reduced the waste stream by 400k lbs per year, saving the company $200k per year.

Took on Fixed Asset responsibilities with a budget ranging from $20M to $80M. Cleaned up Fixed Assets through physical inventories and management input.
